place card HELP!!

ok, this is a dumb question but i'm not sure:

on placecards (for my e-party this july) do i give one place card per couple and write 'Mr. and Mrs. John Doe' and single people get their own 'Mr. John Doe' and people with guests like FH's pig of a cousin who has been dating this girl for a few months: 'Mr. Christopher Big Jerk and Guest' OR do i give one to each individual person??

TIA so much, i dont know why i'm confused but i really dont remember from being at other parties how this is done!

lol .......mr. big jerk!!!! i did one per couple for mine!

I had one per couple and then of course one for a single person. I wrote out both names. I did not write any 'and Guest', but then of course I knew everyone. if you don't really know the guest I would write 'and guest'

okay great, thanks-- and i guess if i was doing that and it's an e-party (not the wedding) that it doesn't have to be so 'formal' i could put 'John and Jane Doe' on the couples??

i'm placing the order now for placecards (they are pearshaped and stand on their own--so cute!) and i needed to know how many to order so if i do one per couple i could save a lot!!!

yeah exactly-- and Mr. Big Jerk's girlfriend who is an even bigger Jerk than him is getting 'and guest' b/c a. i hate her b. they have been dating literally five minutes so unless someone is in a serious relationship they get 'and guest' hope that's not rude but i can't keep up with some of mine and FH's cousin's love lives!!
