when you send out the invitations as so and so + guest, when they rsvp with a guest do you do the same thing for the escort card? so and so +guest table 1?
If I know the person's name I am going to include it on the placecard. If they don't put a name and I don't know who they are bringing I'll put 'and guest'

You're supposed to try to find out the name of the guest, if not, just as you said

Our RSVP card said:
Name(s)___________________
so people would write the names of those attending so we could write both names on the escort cards.
I've also been at weddings where they write separate cards for each person. We just did one per couple.
