Re: Planners/Organizers
I got one at Kmart! It's nice, it's actually bulging with all the papers I have in it. I do use it, when I remember. I use to keep all of my info in, contracts, etc.! I guess they are helpful. I'll tell you, I used it more in the beginning of my planning.

Re: Planners/Organizers
I got a beautiful planner as an e-gift. It is huge so I used it to store contracts, ideas, photos. I used my regular day-timer to schedule meetings etc....

Re: Planners/Organizers
I'm with Michele. My FH gave me a planner as a gift after we got engaged. (I guess that was the first clue that I'd be doing most of the work, huh?)All the contracts and print outs of ideas, etc go in there. But I use my day-to-day planner to keep track of meetings.

How big are your bags that you can carry these things around?

Re: Planners/Organizers
I bought one and don't use it... I find it easier to keep track of things electronically. I have a simple folder for all my 'final' contracts, and throw away all others information once the contract is booked.

Re: Planners/Organizers
I find the planners are no go- what I did was got a book about planning then created my own binder with separate sections for different things: ceremony, reception, flowers, favors, clothing (dress, tux, girl's dresses), etc.

Re: Planners/Organizers
I have one of those big expanding folder organizers with different sections for each vendor, and dress and flower ideas. So far, so good.

Re: Planners/Organizers
I was given as gifts and did not use them. I did alot in Excel for tracking names, responses, billing info etc. I also bought an accordian folder and used every section for the contracts, planning docs and pictures I collect. Worked well for me. I am not the type of person who uses a planner though. I barely even use my Palm Pilot for work!

Re: Planners/Organizers
I also use an acordian folder and notebook and then use my everyday planner for appointments. When the vendor is final I put the contact info in excel.

Re: Planners/Organizers
The first thing I bought was a small leather bound notebook that I'm using as what I call my wedding journal. I write down all my little ideas & definite plans in there. This sounds corny, but I imagine one day when my daughter is getting married I'll have a journal of this time in my live to share with her.As far as my guest lists, I do have that all on Excel sheets & I that works great. For Christmas my FMIL sent me whats called a 'Bride's File', which is a small box with index cards for guests & vendors in it. There are also cards for other various things. I only got it 2 days ago, but as I finalize with vendors & guests I will use it I'm sure.

Re: Planners/Organizers
I bought a planner at a Hallmark card store in their wedding section. I honestly don't use it that much though. I have a little filing system going (accordian carry file). I'm also thinking of bying wedding planning software that I heard about. My friend told me it was very helpful.Welcome New Vendors
