Are you planning to attend your Cocktail Hour? I know so many brides who skipped their cocktail hours to take pictures and regret not being at the CH.
I would feel bad making my guests wait for me since my church is in Queens and the reception will likely be in Nassau or Suffolk. However, I don't want to miss a moment of the partying!!!
If you are planning to attend your cocktail hour, do you have a sample timeline for your wedding day that you can post or FM?
Thanks!!!

Re: Planning to attend your Cocktail Hour???
I plan on going to the cocktail hour... Our ceremony ends at about 4:30, we should get to the reception site at 5 & take all our 'posed' pics then. CH starts at 7, so we should be done by then! (hopefully!!)

Hi! Welcome and congrats! My church was in Queens and the reception was in LI so I know about the 'guilt' that you speak of...it works out fine! As for attending the CH, I have posted this once before but I'll do it again...this is an email I received from one of my guests after the wedding... The reception was gorgeous! & the fact that you guys came out to mingle & greet the guests during the cocktail hour was really thoughtful & a nice surprise, since usually the bride & groom go into 'hiding' after the ceremony until the MC announces them at the reception. I LOVED the 'iced out' Martini bar during the cocktail hour... it was so elegant & really, really cool. =) That framed photo of you & Anthony that everybody got to write a little message on, was such a cute idea! The food during the cocktail hour was delish, but we were trying not to stuff ourselves before dinner! LOL..
My guests LOVED it that we attended the CH - they broke out into applause as we entered, totally unexpected. Plus we were able to mingle with some guests and get a lot of hello's out of the way...as for a timeline, this is what I did:
1) Ceremony from 3:00pm-3:45pm, take pictures outside church, leave at 4:00pm 2) Arrive at park for pictures 5:00pm take pictures until 6:00pm 3) Arrive at reception at 6:15pm, take pictures until 7:00pm 4) Attend CH at 7:00pm...dance, eat and mingle until 1:00am
