Please help me choose an appetizer!!!! POLL

We're having a hard time deciding on an appetizer and we meet with the BM on Sunday to pick the menu. We obviously want something that the majority will like, we just can't figure what that might be. Your input will be GREATLY appreciated, ladies

P.S. There wasn't enough room on the poll to describe the last choice, so here it is:

Crespelle alla Ortolana:
Crepes stuffed with Mushroom or broccoli, ricotta filling served with sauce 'aurora'....a blend of plum tomatoes, basil, sweet onion, prosciutto, sundried tomatos with a touch of cream...

I voted for eggplant bc many people (including myself) are allergic to shellfish......

I love Eggplant Rollatini and voted for that, but also because it works for those that dont eat meat and those that dont like/eat seafood.

Ahhh, good point.
I voted for the shrimp coctail, because people like that.
Even though I am a veg., and would only eat the eggplant!

I have to make this same decision - why can't Lombardi's just have tomatoes and mozarella like everyone else!!! My brother had his wedding at Villa also and he chose to do the pasta dish (I forgot what it's called) for an appetizer and the intermezzo instead of the pasta course. It worked out perfectly because the dinners are so huge - and that cocktail hour is outrageous! People can only eat so much!!! Also, you should keep in mind that the shrimp is one of your dinner choices and the other choices (most of them) can be chosen for cocktail hour as your hot dishes. HTH

I just happen to love eggplant rollatini, so that's what I voted for. Check your menu items, & then choose the appetizer based on what you have the least of. Did that make sense to you? If you are having a lot of fish choices for the dinner, you might not want to do the shrimp coctail appetizer. If you're having a lot of italian or meat dishes for the dinner choices, then maybe go with the shrimp coctail. Get the idea? Good Luck!

I voted for the eggplant. I love the shrimp also but a lot of people don't like fish so I would cut those out. The stuffed shells might also be good, that would be my 2nd choice.

omg i cannot choose!!! i love each one more than the next. my god, melon and 'fancy bacon' as i like to call it (drives FH nuts!) IS SOOOOO GOOD.
but i LOVE shrimp cocktail too and the stuffed shrimp and clams are making my mouth water.....
i have to make a decision!!!!
ok....
SHRIMP AND CLAMS OREGANTA, i just love it and i think it's different and classy and most of all---DELICIOUS. I want lunch now and its 11am!

I would say that you should stay away from shellfish is that is going to be the only option -- a lot of people can't or won't eat that.

Actually, yes, that makes alot of sense. Since eggplant rollatini is in our CH, that's out. Also, shrimp orgenata is one of the dinner options, so the shrimp cocktail and the shrimp and clam oreganata is out. I THINK THE CRESPELLES WIN!! Thanks girls!!!!

I voted for the crespelle - my mom makes them and they are out of this world...its also something different...most of the other choices will most likely be in your CH...if not the crespelle than the melon
