I keep thinking girl and I am curious to know if I am right, plus I want to know for the room and stuff.

His mom thinks he is a moron lol for wanting to be surprised b/c she says she doesnt like yellow and green and I will get all yellow stuff.

My mom says she has a nervous stomach and cant take not knowing

I want to know, he doesnt, he said if I want to find out w/out him I can but he will be a little annoyed if I do

I was kinda curious in the beginning of this pregnancy, but im SO glad I waited. John DEFINATELY didnt want to know.
I think we'll wait for all future pregnancies too.

There are so few magical surprises in life.

I don't want to know.. I think part of the excitement is the big surprise as to whether it's a girl or boy.. Todd really wants to know but that's only b/c he'll go crazy buying stuff lol

As for colors.. I'm registering for ALL white; bedding, clothing, all.. I don't like green or yellow...I like the look of white on a baby.. to me it's very regal... and when the baby is born, I will accent the bedroom with either boy or girl stuff..

Edited to add that neither of our parents want to know either.. Although that wouldn't matter..

We found out and I don't regret our decision. I At first I really wanted to be surprised an had always said 'I would never find out' Steve really wanted to know and then I really wanted a (I know this sounds horrible) but I had to prepare myself if it was a (I have issues with my mother, this is why) I had an amnio so it was 100% right and it was nice to get all boy things I don't know what we will do with the second one(when the time comes) We will probably find out so we can tell Damien he is having a brother or sister so he is prepared. Or maybe we will try to be surprised

ETA: My Dad did not want to know the sex so we had to keep it a secret from him, but my Stepmother knew so you know she blew it and called the baby a him in front of my Dad. My Dad was so pissed, until he called me and it set in that his first Grandson was about to be born

Before I found out I was pregnant my DH always said he wanted to know. Once I was pregnant he was all for the surprise. I never wanted to know so I am glad he changed his mind.

My Mom REALLY wants to know - she keeps threatening to call my OB/GYN (who she goes to as well) to see if it is a boy or girl

We didn't want to find out...we just both felt that there are so few surprises in life that this would be one of the ones we'd want to keep as a surprise!

I don't think I would find out for my next one either, but I think it is a personal decision. For me, it had less to do with clothes or decorations than just the fun of waiting to find out!! I'll never forget the moment of Bob telling me 'It's a boy!' in the operating room...and I can't wait for him to tell me again some day!!

It's a tough decision!!

There is no way I can wait!!! DH doesn't care either way but he knows I hate surprises. I want to be able to paint the room and pick out the crib stuff and make it either girlish or boyish.

I was very adamant about not finding out the sex and Joe wanted to at first, but then he relented. Although he did look very close at each sonogram and was convinced that he saw 'something' that wasn't there!!! It was torture for my mother and MIL, especially my MIL, but I didn't care. I really didn't want to know and I'm so glad that I didn't find out because it was an amazing feeling when the dr said 'it's a girl'!!! I had a feeling the Bear Cub was a anyway, even though everyone, Joe included, was convinced it was a !!!

When I'm preggo with #2, I won't find out either -- which will probably tick off my MIL and my mother, but too bad!!

I don't want to know and neither does Bob because like so many people say, you only get so few surprises in life (and believe me, I need to KNOW everything ).

Also for selfish reasons. If I/husband knew, MIL would know and try to put her 'brand' on my baby (suggest names, buy stuff, etc.). I feel like in those first few minutes after delivery, the only two people who will really have the inside know on my baby's identitiy will be me/Bob. No one can hold their preconceived ideas about him/her. I know it sounds weird, but if you knew my situation, you'd totally understand....

And really, it doesn't matter to me either way, although my mom and I are convinced it's a

We are not going to find out. As Michele did, we are going to pick out nursery things for both a boy and a girl and then order after the baby has arrived. We both want either a very girly or a very boyish room, so we are going to wait to decorate.

I wanted to find out but FH did not. He left the ultrasound room while the technician told me. But as soon as we walked in the door of our home he begged me to tell him. I was glad that I was the one to tell him that we were having a little girl. I've never seen a man cry such tears of joy! It's is still one of my favorite memories!

We both wanted to find out. I couldn't not find out... it was too difficult keeping that a secret, A lot of people sad that we ruined the surprise... I definitely didn't feel that way since we had so many other things to wonder about...

We both wanted to wait, and we were so glad we did. The end of labor, with all the pushing, is SO hard and tiring, and for me, not knowing gave me an extra incentive to get that baby OUT!!!!

I also wanted NO yellow or green things, and I really didn't get many. As it turned out, Nicolas looks adorable in yellow (I was surprised... I look awful in it and he has my coloring), so we kept a few yellow sleepers, and exchanged all the rest of the yellow and green stuff.

We both agree that we want it to be a surprise. However, it is something that you both need to be comfortable with.

IMO: You pressuring him is one thing, but I don't think the grandmothers should be pressuring him. It'll make him feel like he's being bullied into something he doesn't want to do.
