Just wanted to know how most people feel. Our wedding is going to be on the formal side, however I don't really see a problem with having children there. My family doesn't really have many small children. My youngest cousins will be 11 yrs old. FH's family has only 3 small children. I feel most people won't want to bring their children and will enjoy a night out. However, I know there are some people travelling that may have no choice.
What are your thoughts?

We are having no kids, except for FH's niece and nephew but FH's brother and SIL are in the BP

We have a lot of little cousins who are definitely coming to the wedding...I wouldn't have it any other way....however, that's it. We only want children from the immediate family.

It's up to you whether you want to have an 'adult reception' or not. We are definitely allowing kids at our reception; FH has a lot of children in his family and I don't mind having children around. I look forward to making them little gift bags with things to keep them occupied during the reception.

Almost all of FH's family is from out of country so it'd be hard for me to say 'hey leave your kids home in a different country'

I voted no with the exception of my flower girl and ring bearer, and my cousin Alex is technically a kid at 16 I suppose but he is a Groomsman with his two older brothers.

Only nieces and nephews are invited. We made one exception for a baby that will be born in September and is coming up from Florida.
If we invited children that would be 20 extra people and even though kids are half price it would still be $$.

I´m thinking about the same thing. I think I´m doing a certain age limit (probably 15 - not technically a kid) and only making an exception for three kids.
Two kids I have seen grow up (they are brother and sister and I babysat the brother since before his sister was born) after I had to stop my middle sister sat for them for a little bit and then my youngsest sister too. They are almost like our kids. The other is FH daughter who is 8 and obviously part of the wedding.

Yes we are having children. I do not want to offend anyone at all, because this is just my personal opinion and I respect yours. We're having kids because, again in my personal opinion, I don't like leaving them out because I feel they are part of the family/friends too. I feel that if the parents don't want them to come, they can leave them at home.

we are only planning on having the ones in the bridal party. This was kinda a heated discussion for us but it's just easier we have over 20 in our families and some we barely even know.

We dont have any kids anyway but if there were any to invite, i think it would just be those from close family.

The only child that will be at our wedding is FSD.
Really there is only one contingency of my family that has children and all those children will be around 2 or 3 years old...I DO NOT want such young children at the wedding.

We only had the FG there. FOr us to have the kids we would have had to pic an entire different room cause we would have added 30-40 people.
