POLL: Are you allowing kids at your wedding ?

Just wanted to know how most people feel. Our wedding is going to be on the formal side, however I don't really see a problem with having children there. My family doesn't really have many small children. My youngest cousins will be 11 yrs old. FH's family has only 3 small children. I feel most people won't want to bring their children and will enjoy a night out. However, I know there are some people travelling that may have no choice.

What are your thoughts?

we haven't decided yet to include kids or not. our RH told us that kids 5 and below are free which is a really tempting offer since our circle of friends are new parents.

No. Only the ones in the BP and they will be picked up and brought home early. I dont think 6 yr olds belong at black tie affairs...

even at 1/2 price -- very expensive chicken fingers and french fries!

Nope no kids! I have 1 nephew and he isn't even invited. He will only be 17 months, and my bro and his gf wanna have a good night too so they weren't upset.

FH's family is HUGE and all of his cousin's have children, and a lot of children (big irish breeder's they all are) So we can't have some children and not other's so we decided no one is bringing them. The rule is First cousins only, FH is the youngest of his cousins, and my youngest will be 13 at the time.

I have 14 nieces and nephews ranging in age from 17-3yrs and FH has 2 nephews that will be there. Its alot of kids but they are my immediate family and I would not feel right about not having them there..

i have a similar situation... I have 9 nieces and nephews, from 17-1, they are all invited... the other kids in both of our families are cousins, and cousins kids so anyone under 13 is not invited... if they were invited that would add another 20 people to the list, and even at half price thats still a lot of money to spend on people that wont be really eating

We are only having the kids in our BP at our wedding. However, we are having 6 kids in our BP. I have a neice and two nephews and FH has a nice and two nephews so they are all in the wedding. No other kids are invited, however if for some reason someone has to bring their kid for whatever reason it won't really be an issue for us.
