Re: poll: Do you have Breast Implants

I'll share...10 years ago went from a shelf of 38DDD to a perky 36C. Recently I went back to have scar tissue removed and now I'm even perkier than ever. Best thing I ever did. My back was a mess. Insurance paid for it all. I'm really a 38D now after everything settled down. When I'm a little thinner I'm a 36D.

I highly recommend my surgeon if anyone is interested.

If it makes you feel better about your body I say go for it. Be sure you really know what it entails. I'm sore and I will be for a while. It took me a year of interviewing docs and deciding on the right one. It was still a tough decision.

How did you get your insurance to pay for it?

With all of my back problems, this may be a good option, and a LOT safer than tryng to operat eon my back

Re: poll: Do you have Breast Implants

I was under Chiropractor care for years. They submitted x-rays, took pics of me (side show freak as I call it) and my doc and my gyno wrote letters to the insurance company recommending it. It's hard to get it covered, but it was worth it going to all the docs to get them to write letters and such. I felt deformed. I would have gotten it done either way.

Implants is one of the last things that I need, especially after pregnancy. I'm seriously thinking about getting a reduction in about 10 years when I'm all done having kids. I'd do it now but I don't know how pregnancy would affect it so I'd rather wait.

I can never find a button down shirt that fits me. It's so frustrating.

after I have kids, I'll get it done again.

I'll be 70 with 25 year old boobs.

My insurance covered everything too- and I have crappy oxford. I'm 5'2', and not really a big girl, so they were really out of control.

Here's my process:

i saw a chiropractor once, and politely asked her to write a letter. = $25 copay.

called my gyno, got her to write a short note too. = free

went to see 6 surgeons, all free consults, and decided on dr. ian bourhill in huntington.

Dr. Bourhill = $40 copay

Dr. Bourhill took pics, submitted them w/ a note recommending the procedure, and I was approved and on the table in 3 weeks.

very very very easy.

After $10 for meds after surgery, and $4 for the bags of frozen peas that became the BEST icepacks, my grand total came to $75!!!

I still have tons of info, like I said I researched 6 docs, all in the smithtown/huntington area. If anyone is truly interested, I'll share details - but it really was the best decision of my life.

Re: poll: Do you have Breast Implants

I don't have implants and wouldn't want them. I'm about a 34C and I think they're too big! I can never find bathing suits to fit me, can never wear anything strapless without a corset bra, I wear two bras at the gym and those built in bra tops at the Gap - forget it!!!!

I know someone who had very tasteful implants - she's a ballerina, so they couldnt' be too big or else it would be really noticeable, but they're about a B cup and very natural.

But, as someone mentioned, I hate hearing about all of the horror stories (even though I know that they're all dramatized and the percentage of leakages, etc, is small) I think it is soooo scary!!!!

My sisnlaw just had got implants. She has two children and she wanted to wait til after she has kids. She mentioned that her boobies deflated after the kids. She is thrilled!!!
At the moment, I don't want any but who knows how I will feel after children.

I have another friend who had a breast reduction and her medical paid for everything b/c she had back problems.

Okay, so in seriousness about the implants... I know two people that have them. One, was because she was very uneven (one was less than an A, one was a D cup). She doesn't regret having them, but she wouldn't reccomend it.

The other had a masectomy after breast cancer. The implant popped. She now has this crazy stuff moving all over her body and making her sick. She told me it's the biggest regret of her life, having those implants put in.

My suggestion to those who want to get them, is to do all the research first.

I have a lot of friends (actually one group of women I know) who all had 'lifts' after they finished having children. They were all average to large breasted and they just had them lifted and reshaped. If you have enough to work with it's much more natural IMO ....

I WANT THIS!!!!!!
