POLL: Paying for wedding

Just curious as to how we are all having the beautiful weddings we are planning.

I did a poll so that people who may not be comfortable answering a $$$ question, could still answer if they wanted to...

My parents are generously paying for the reception and my gown along with the extras that go along with the gown/day of, and paying for the DOC, $$ toward shower, and tips

Grooms parents are paying for band, photo, video, and i think flowers, RD, prob put $$ toward shower

we are paying for invites, honeymoon, limos, and any of the other 'extras'

I know we are very lucky that our parents are being so generous! I am very thankful, because we could not afford the wedding we are having without them!
-and as far as being able to choose what we want we have been able to do that too...

(the reason for my post was something that happened at work with 2 friends/coworkers who are also getting married)

My parents are paying for the whole thing...

We are very lucky, and fortunatly I am an only child...so they can do this..

FH & I are paying for our entire wedding, with the exception of the band (which is a gift from his parents).

I'd prefer it this way as we have total say on who to book and how it will be planned.

Same here and totally agree. My mom is purchasing my dress, of course.
FH's parents offered the money ahead of time if needed...we declined since we dont need it and whatever we get from my parents will help out towards the saving of a house.
