Saturday Night

Memorial Day (monday) 2pm ceremony 4:30 reception...why? to minimize costs since my parents suckered us into a bigger wedding and we didn't want to completely triple our budget.

I'm not an '08 bride, so I hope you don't mind my answering!

We got married on a Saturday night. We're Jews too, so our ceremony took place after sundown.

What time is Sundown in November? My parents got married the very end of October and did a Saturday night wedding -- I think it ended at 2am

I was afraid it would be too late for us to start after sundown in August

Edit: I also didn't want to pay lots extra for a Sat night when many of our guests would leave significantly early with such a late start

No, I hear you on not wanting to pay extra for a Saturday night...weddings are so freaking expensive - it's disgusting!

I am also Jewish, so our ceremony is starting at sundown on a Saturday night....around 7pm. Reception will go into early Sunday morning!

I checked a few different websites and sundown for your date (the day before mine) is listed as ranging from 7:50pm to 8:16pm. Is your rabbi going to make you wait until it is officially sundown? 7pm seems early...

I went to a Jewish wedding in August about 4 years ago on a Saturday. I have to be honest it was soooo beautiful. If my memory is correct it started at about 8, maybe more 8:15 and ended at 3:00ish. But boy it was the most beautiful and ROMANTIC wedding, a lot of the ceremony was in hebrew but it was 'sung' and it just made me cry. All the tradition and the dancing no one cared if they had work the next day or they decided at about 10 that they were calling in, or already had taken Sunday off!!! In fact I called in!!! It ranks with one of the 10 best weddings I have been to.

We're a Saturday night. Originally were a friday night in April, but since we pushed it back and now are getting married off peak, we're able to have a saturday night!

Saturday: Ceremony is at 3pm
Reception is at 7:30pm
