Poll: What is more important, having the place you want or a Sat night?

I am having a dilmma. The place that I wanted to get married in, has no Sat nights left for Fall FY03. Do you think it is more important to have the place or a Sat night? Thoughts?

Re: Poll: What is more important, having the place you want or a Sat night?

If you really have your heart set on a place, I don't think it has to be a Saturday night. Think of the bright side - Saturday night is the most expensive, so you'll save $$, plus have the place of your dreams.

What do they have open?? Can you do the afternoon? Or do you really want an evening?

Good Luck!

Re: Poll: What is more important, having the place you want or a Sat night?

I think it is a personal decision. To me it was a Saturday night. There are lots of nice places...and I was not set to one when I started looking.

If you always had your heart set on a place...a Friday night or Saturday would be a fine alternative!

The place you want. I think Friday nights almost as good if not just as good as Saturday nights. I do, however, prefer a night wedding to a daytime one. JMO -

Re: Poll: What is more important, having the place you want or a Sat night?

I think having the place you want is the most important. You'll never remember what time of day you had your wedding as much as where you had it. Go for Sat day or even a Friday night of a holiday (so people don't have to leave work early). Good Luck!

Re: Poll: What is more important, having the place you want or a Sat night?

To me the most important thing was the place and having it on a Sat, but if I had to chose I would chose the place. If I could not have it on a Sat. then I would have it on a Sunday. Having it on a Friday night is hard for a lot of people. I would do whatever you want to do. It is your day.

IMO, it is the place. My wedding is on a Friday night and I can't wait. It works out better actually. I will be getting married there. All in one. No traveling or time in between ceremony and reception. I LOVE friday night weddings.

Re: Poll: What is more important, having the place you want or a Sat night?

We had our wedding on a Sunday night, and it was great for us. People in my family have had Sunday nights before, so it was not unusual to them. And we really didn't have anyone from out of town - so for us it was fine. If you have your heart set on a certain place, and don't want to put off the wedding, choose another day.

I think both are really important. Maybe have your wedding at the end or summer or early winter? Even though delaying may seem terrible now, you will be grateful for the extra time to save $$ and plan later on.

Re: Poll: What is more important, having the place you want or a Sat night?

Tough question...for me it did not matter too much but my reception is at flowerfields and it is a little far from where most of our friends/family live therefore my mom thought it should be a saturday night. It really is a hard decision...good luck

The place was most important to me. I wanted a Sunday afternoon wedding not because of $$ but of other reasons within the family. I love the choice I made.

Re: Poll: What is more important, having the place you want or a Sat night?

The place.
We wanted a Saturday night too, but had the same problem.
We had our wedding on a Friday night and it was GREAT!!
Actually the guests liked having the extended weekend and it gave us all time to recover. It's nice for out of town guests to travel over the weekend.

Don't worry, no matter what day you choose, all of the important people will be there.

For me, definitley the Place. I had my heart set on CB. I would have my wedding any time to have it there
Everyone has different priorities, so there's no right or wrong here.

I would choose the place... How about Labor Day weekend sunday, or a sat. afternoon?

Re: Poll: What is more important, having the place you want or a Sat night?

Hard choice. We let the place dictate what Saturday night we went with. We originally wanted Oct but settled for a Sat in Nov so we had both!

Re: Poll: What is more important, having the place you want or a Sat night?

I think it depends if you have a lot of out of town guests. If so, a Friday or Sunday wedding will be difficult for a lot of them. If not, I don't think the time makes that big a difference.

Re: Poll: What is more important, having the place you want or a Sat night?

For me it was the sat. night because I am more relaxed in the middle of the weekend ( I know that sounds funny) I liked the idea of my guests being able to relax and really enjoy it and not have to worry about work the next day. But that is only me. If you REALLY love a place then go for it. I did not really have my heart set on one place.
