Re: Poll: What is more important, having the place you want or a Sat night?
For us it was the place, the price difference from a Friday to a Saturday evening just wasn't worth it. I know that most friends and family will be there for the church and reception, our ceremony isn't until 4pm and the cocktail hour doesn't start until 8pm. I think it gives guests enough time to get home from work. We knew we didn't want an afternoon wedding, so Friday night was just fine for us, no one will have to leave too early because most people don't work the next day. This is just my opinion on this topic, as you can see everyone thinks differently.

In my opinion if you have your heart set on a place do it on a Friday or Sunday. Or even have your wedding in an off peak month My fiance and I knew we wanted our wedding at Milleridge once we walked into the cottage but we couldn't gaurantee their minimum for a Saturday night in Oct or Nov so we decided to do it in March which is not busy for them and they dropped the room minimum and we were able to get a lot more extras for our money.

I think the place is more important. We're getting married on a Friday night.

What's wrong with Friday? I got amrried on a Friday & it was perfect! We partied until the wee hours on Saturday & then woke up & had brunch with everyone, it was nice, you can make a whole weekend party out of it!
