I mentioned to a few people in my family that my BM's and MOH with be wearing black.
Why ? Cause I dont have awedding color, i want to be free of sticking to a color.
Everyone always say 'No, you cant do black, thats depressing, i think its elegant'
What do you think ?

Isn't it great how EVERYONE has an opinion about YOUR wedding!!! Don't listen to them!! My girls are going to be in black also, and I completely agree with you. Black is elegant, sophisticated and very dressy, plus who doesn't look good in it?! It's very easy to look like a giant peep in a pepto bismol pink dress, but in black - your girls will loook awesome. In the beginning I *tried* to listen to everyone, and to take everyones feelings and opinions into consideration, and then I realized that there's just no pleasing everybody. YOUR wedding. YOUR decision! Just remember that!

My girls are wearing black and I got the same reaction from most people over 35. Then they saw the BM dresses and they realized how elegant and classy it will be. It's your day, don't listen to anyone else!!!!

I'm using black too for the exact same reason you are...Im so indecisive with flower colors that I figured I'd better just go with black and I can make up my mind later. I think it's elegant as well. Not only that, but it's timeless. In 10 years you aren't going to look back at your pics and say what was I thinking?! ( a la my mother's pastel rainbow wedding with pill box hats..LOL)

Are you incoprorating other colors into it or just black? I think to be fair, if you say 'black' people might assume just black and no color. I went to a wedding where everyone was black tie and then the roses were white and red. AMAZING. If anyone complains, mention that black tie affairscall for black so if your wedding is at night and you want that feeling, it would work for you too.

my mom hates the idea of me having all blk dresses with a green sash. We get into arguments about it. I think the older generation really feels strongly against blk at a wedding. Yet my mom wore blk at my brothers wedding. So its like a double standard.

It's called a Black and White wedding.
Black is elegant, you can accessorize with ANY color flower, which would look stunning against a black dress. It's no one elses business what you decide to do. People will always have opinions, will always voice their opinions (hmmmn I'm doing that now), but they are just that, opinions. Heck, if I could wear a black wedding dress I would !
