Poll: when are you planning to start your family?

Just wondering how long 08 are waiting before they start their families with DH.

Fh and I want to start one yr from wedding. Looking to have our first around 27 years old.

around 2 years but not setting a definite time. I think when the time is right we'll know. ALso, whatever happens happens, so if it were to happen sooner or later then that is fine, although not that much later either since i am approaching 30 soon and would like kids around 2 years so waiting even more after that i will be approaching mid 30's.

a ton of married people say when it happens it happens and I agree with that. That's a good way to look at it. Eveyting happens for a reason!

yeah plus alot of women think it will just happen when they want it to happen. But it can take MONTHS or a year and some cases even longer. I know people who have gone through this and women don't realize how high the percentage is of those who take an average of 6 months to conceive. Especially after the age of 27 your chances of getting pregnant are lower and can take longer. So i dont want to ever say that i want to get pregnant by lets say end of 09 and then i keep trying and doesn't happen. I feel that will just make it worse bc in my head i would've planned it all and pictured being pregnant by that time frame, so don't want to go through that.

I have a few friends over 30 who it took time and money to get pregnant. Its a very touchy subject that why I went with a poll.

ditto! I think some people are on such an agenda that they stress their bodies out and forget to take into account that it may not happen on the 1st try.

DH and I would love to wait another year at least or so... to become more secure in our lives... and we both would love a child but are smart to realize that we are not ready right now. Your schedules are too ridiculous to even think about babies.

But when it happens it happens.

My DH too!!! Meanwhile, we are struggling to get by on a daily basis just with the 2 of us! He is crazy!

Congrats to all the newly married ones, your pics are beautiful.

I agree with other posters...I don't think we want to put a time frame on when we will have a baby.
I've heard too many stories about ladies having a hard time. Plus I get asked enough..'when are you having a baby?' I feel like if I give them a time they'll bug me even more. So we always say we're so busy and it'll happen when it happens.
Meanwhile we practice a lot..
