Being adopted myself, I would definatley do it if I find I am unable to have children.

I would love to do it, DH not so much. If we cannot have our own children, though, definitely (for both of us).

If we can't have biological children, absolutely. I would actually probably rather do that than take fertility drugs.

If we couldnt have biological children, I would consider adopting a baby. My aunt adopted two girls at 13 and 16, and they had issues from growing up that all her love and attention could not help.

Fh and I actually had a conversation about this the other day, we both agreed that if we couldn't have our own children, we would definitely want to adopt.

Wow DH and me just spoke about this. I want to adopt if we have the money to do so one day. DH stated he would only do it if we could not have children of our own.

Ideally i would love to adopt a child from Russia. Our friends did that and they literally saved those children and both of the boys are wonderful children.

I was adopted, and I would love to ONLY adopt, but FH has convicned me that we should have a baby together, and now after reading on parenting and TTC, I'm kind of convinced, so we'll have one or two the 'old fashioned way' then adopt 1 or 2 more. Maybe I'm weird but even before I knew I was adopted I always wnated to adopt, I figured why bring more children into this world when there are so many out there who don't have homes and families.

For the people who said absolutely no, I'm just curious about why not?

I say YES YES YES...My aunt adopted my 2 cousins when we were all young. They are 100% my cousins, I would never think any differently because they were adopted. I love both of them very much. I am thinking about adoption

We don't know if we want kids yet, but if we did and couldn't have our own, we would adopt. I agree with Nov04LIbride's comment that she would adopt a baby. It is hard with the older adoptions since some of these kids have been through so much. But to be able to prevent that from happening to other kids would feel so great.

What you wrote is so similar to how I feel. We would love to have biological children...there is that part of me that needs to experience what it's like to carry a child but I would love to adopt if I could. Like you said...so many children need homes and if we are able to help them, then why not?

If we are unable to have children of our own, then yes, I plan to adopt.

without a doubt if we were unable to adopt and we are thinking about it as an option for after we have our biological children

not sure. If someone told me that I was never able to have kids, I would consider. I will keep it at that

marymoon-I had no idea you were adopted. One of my best friends is adopted and he can't wait to have a baby so someone will have his features. He has never seen a blood relative before. I completely want to adopt, I am also curious about why others would not want to adopt

Yep. I was adopted. Fh brought up the blood relative argument,. His dream in life is to have me carry his baby, so he pulled out all the stops in trying to convince me.. but to me, blood relatives mean nothing. My family is my family, pure and simple. Family is about who loves you and who you love unconditionally. this is why I have such a huge problem with my in-law's attitude about who is family and who isn't, et etc. I've never had a blood relative, and my child will be the first one I ever have, and to me there's no difference between a biological child and an adopted child. Still my children. Family is who you love. I call my best friend my twin sister
