pray for marcelas grandfather--update 2/9/04 on page 4
Hey everybody, This is Marcela's fiance Peter. She asked me to post an update for her. I hope this works.. Her grandfather had a stroke about 10 minutes ago and his left side seems to be paralyzed. PLease pray for his healthy and full recovery. Shes on her way to the hospital and asked me to ask you guys for your prayers. Thank you. Peter
2/8/04 Update: We've all been at the hospital all weekend, so I haven't had anytime to post and until now I was just too depressed and upset to even post.
Thankfully, little by little my grandfather is making process. He's more awake now (the doc says the reason he's been so sleepy is probably a combo of the general anesthesia, morphine they gave him for the pain and the stroke). And as of today, he can move his head from right to left (which is huge b/c the doc says that he would ignore his paralyzed side, which is the left side and for the first 2 days he wouldn't look to the left at all); he can move his left hand and squeezes it like a mad man
; he can move his left foot and my grandma just called (she's spending the night at the hospital) and told me he lifted his left leg a little. I am so happy and grateful that he's making progress, but I am still extremely sad and hate seeing him like this. He is usually such a strong person and seeing him like this breaks my heart. But we're still praying and pulling for him and hope that with physical therapy (which he starts tomorrw) he'll be able to walk and move his arm again. So please keep up the prayers everyone, they're working
Thanks again for all of your support and FMs. It means so much to us. Your support has been unbelievable.
