I think mine is free..When we met with the priest he told us we'd be notified when they were offering the session to us. But never mentioned a fee..I hope not since it's costing us enough money to get married the church!

Re: Pre Cana!!!
We are not getting married in a church partly because of pre-cana --- my FH is catholic and so am I, but FH is not practicing --- wouldn't feel comfortable getting married in one, so we are doing it at the RH and are going to worry about baptising kids later. (dedication ceremony or whatever.)
But I heard that doing it at RVC is good because there are like 50 other couples there and they can't put you on the spot like I have heard they do at the smaller gatherings. I would HATE that, and FH would get up and leave if someone asked him a personal question about marriage in front of anyone.

i PREFER to actually get asked questions and actually get something out of it. It can be a great learning experience. I am not even catholic so i have to do interfaith pre-cana, same thing just interfaith couples.

That's a good question. Our church is part of the Rockville Centre Archdiocese, whatever difference that makes.

yea i agree with that- i dont mind being put on the spot- the whole thing with pre cana is to make you think & talk before you have issues- everyone i know who has gone loved it and got so much out of it (& bonus they are still together too)- i cant wait for it

yeah i was a little nervous at first because of the fact that I am not Catholic...But i am looking forward to hearing from married couples and really being open about problems and how to solve things and what works for them. You never know what you might learn from it. I wanna hear what FH has to say about things, we talk about alot but you never know if they bring up something we never have really discussed.

If we were able to do pre-cana through our church, it would have been free. But, bc of FH's work schedule that was not possible. We have to do it through the Diocese (RVC) and pre-cana will cost us $250, and the Foccus will be $50.
I had the same problem as you and had to pay $250 through the diocese (RVC) It's crazy!!

My Fh feels the same way. It has been so stressful trying to locate a place for pre-cana and then to do the foccus. We moved our wedding up 6 months and it has been crazy with trying to do this. My fh says everyday why can't we just get married at the hall. We are not children.

I think if you have it at your parish it is cheaper then the Diocese.
