Pre Cana!!!

I am not getting married at a church, is pre cana a must? do you suggest doing it if I don't have to?

yup its a must.

honestly i don't know if you can go to a catholic church and tell them you're not getting married in a church but then ask if you can do pre-cana. The catholic church won't even recognize a marriage if its not done in the church...I am not catholic just getting married in a catholic church, so i might be wrong don't know 100%...just know how their views are on this subject and can imagine their reaction

if you want to do something like this, there are couple retreats you can go to...psychiatrists will do something similar

If you are NOT getting married in a church or by a catholic priest, it is not required at all.

If we were able to do pre-cana through our church, it would have been free. But, bc of FH's work schedule that was not possible. We have to do it through the Diocese (RVC) and pre-cana will cost us $250, and the Foccus will be $50.

wait...i thought if you were doing pre cana through the Diocese you didnt have to pay for Foccus?? I thought I saw that on their website????

If you are NOT getting married in a church or by a catholic priest, it is not required at all.

I am getting married in a Lutheran church and we dotn have precana! It doent exist in the Lutheran church. U can go to a couples class and its free but you dont have to do anything to get married there. just meet with the pastor and then show up on your wedding day!! lol love it!

your right denise...the catholic church does not recognize a marriage unless it is in the church...so if you are getting married in a catholic church you need pre cana- but you dont need to do pre cana if technically you were married by a justice of the peace and now getting married in the church (to the same person!)- atleast my church doesnt require it

focus is 50 bucks... but you can do it online.. the other thing is 250..

ours is $175. I just sent in my check and will be going in november! Can't wait to get it over with!

OMG now i have to call up this week...Its weird i thought id call not too long before but hmmm guess i gotta do it ahead of time lol. Im just getting bombarded with things right now lol
