I am getting married the same day you are. I had concerns at first, but then I thought about. The people who really want to be at your wedding will be there regardless. For those who don't come. Oh well, it's their loss.
Besides, people can still go away Saturday - Monday.
Oh, and I sent my Save The Dates a while ago just to let everyone know way in advance that my wedding was on a holiday weekend.

Im getting married that same day! not to be snobby BUT I didnt plan my wedding date around everyone else's needs and wants. You cant please everyone all the time. I was originally getting married on a thursday night (you should have seen everyone's reaction to that). Its a wedding not just some little party, futhermore if people are going to come they are going to come.

First off- I'm your date twin! So i'm obviously fine with the date.
I decided to do that Friday because I thought, if we're gonna do a Friday, thats one where people get out early and won't have to rush to the wedding.
Then I also figured, if you want to go away for the weekend, leave the next morning! Boo freaking hoo.
And honestly, if its so bad for you, then don't come, see if I care.
Tell them to eff off!

IMO, no matter what day you choose SOMEONE will be sure to complain about it! No matter what day you pick you will not please everyone. The most important thing is that you and FH are happy with the day you choose!
