I definately believe there are two sides to every story. I make no judgment on that bride without knowing her side.

Maybe we could have a debate here. The bride in one corner and the disgruntled bridesmaid in the other corner. An LIW showdown!!

whatever, it's costing me over $1,000 to be in this wedding party - bride INSISTED on a resturant shower with 50+ guests. INSISTED on a weekend away bachelorette. INSISTED on expensive dress and particular shoes and particular hair pieces.
And you know what, ok I will show up at 8 am for your 4:00 pm wedding and I will endure getting driven 3 counties away to teh reception and then BEING STRANDED because hte couple is only providing transporttion THERE, not back. And I will have a stranger do my ahir & make up.
But I want a 'thank you' not a 'don't you date be late!' and I don't think I was a snob to ask about lunch, since I'll be tied up doing gosh knows what for 8 hours before dinner is served.
It's only a wedding, get over yourselves. the wedding is icing, it's nothing. it's a perk. The important thing is the marriage, so brides need to get over themselves with the 'perfect wedding' idea.
I guess you are NOT a real friend, then. Too bad. It's true, your real friends shine through during the time of your wedding

Re: PSA for brides

2 months ago I told her (nicely) that no under no circumstances would I show up at 6 am to have my hair & make up done & get ready. She said fine. She only *just* told us, now it's 8:00. I explained the situation, she agreed. She thinks she made a HUGE concession to push it to 8. (oh and she is providing breakfast, but no lunch as she doesn't want our breath to smell for her ceremony. Dinner won't be until about 7:30/8 pm)
I did make a point about the cost of the shower and bachelorette parties at the time. She pulled a fit about the guys were going away so she shoudl get to. She said her mother was insisting on the huge shower invite list. She has lots of excuses.
I did discuss the stranding us at the reception, months ago. She shrugged, said she'd come up with asolution, and then DIDN'T.
I'm complaining now, because as it gets closer, she is increasingly putting the pressure on us.
I'm sorry, but she's refusing you lunch because she doesn't want your breath to smell for her ceremony? That's one of the funniest things I ever heard. She's the one that needs to say her vows; it's not like the bridal party has to say anything. If I was you, I'd be peeved over that also. This coming from someone who just got married herself 3 weeks ago. I would never justify starving my BM's for fear that their breath would smell. LOL.

Re: PSA for brides
Own up to what you said be a true friend and do this face to face not on this site and not in an email either if you ever had respect for this relationship then do this in person. Not like a coward on here!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: PSA for brides
Edit: Okay...I just went back and read some of your responses. You are obviously taking out anger by a bride who treated you unfairly. Maybe you should step out of the party if you are this unhappy.

Re: PSA for brides
So, it is better to complain about your so-called 'friend' in a public forum that you know she reads, than confront her face to face as an adult?Sounds like there is a lack of maturity on both sides.
