yea you know what, I am more emotionally connected. I never said that you didn't know anyone in Iraq or that your opinions didn't count. I you like Kerry you are of course free to vote for him, however, I do not need to be told not to vote for Bush or asked to vote for Kerry, that is my decision, that is where my anger was directed in the first place, I just used one line from your post b/c I feel it is sad that someone would think they could tell us how to vote, that is the point I was making so maybe you should just re read the posts

This is nuts, I shouldn't respond but I just keep getting more angry. i was on the phone with FH today when mortars were hitting the base the line goes dead and I didin't know if he was hurt or even alive for two hours until the regained control and he was able to call me again. I just think that people forget about what our men and women are doing and sacrificing over there so that they can sit here and throw insults at each other over the gosh darn internet, its NUTS.

everyone should vote for whom ever they want and if you think Bush is a jerk than go ahead and say it but don't tell others how to vote.

i did not read this thread as someone telling me what to do, i read it at someone pleading for something. i happen to agree with the sentiment, does that mean i am telling you what to do?

the political posts as of late are just nasty, i found nothing nasty about what maiahsdad posted, perhaps my intelligence has been compromised?

Thanks John, I'll take this under advisement.

I am so sick of anti-Bush people thinking that people voting for Bush must not know any better and are just waiting to be enlightened by a Kerry supporter. It's not just this post or LIW, I have seen this so many times.

I cannot recall seeing so much animosity surrounding any election. I can't wait for Tuesday when the election is over.

I am one of the new voters who registered finally! I normally don't even pay attention to politics, but I just don't want Bush to be re-elected. Hopefully a lot of people are registering for the same reason!

I am sooooo sick of people assuming that Kerry supporters do not support the troops. I support the troops. They are doing what Bush wants, they have no choice, and that's what I feel bad about.

LilQt, I'm sorry for your fiance, but don't assume other people aren't in a similar situation. No one is opposed to him, they are opposed to what Bush is commanding him and others to do.

I just thought I'd share I had a cousin who survived the WTC attack and was the last one to see two of her friends alive. But that very day (after walking all the way to my house in Queens from there), she watched the news, and my mom said something like, we have to bomb them now, my cousin just said 'well that wouldn't make us any better if we did that.' While she had lost friends, she didn't think war was the answer.

Unfortunately with Bush's 'political' connections I am sure he will win, although I am sure he will not win the popular vote, just like in 2000. How sad that we have a president in the White House that the majority didn't vote for. That hasn't happened since 1888, makes you wonder how did Bush pull it off?

If you cant have a debate or political discussion without getting mean and nasty, then you need to stop worrying about who our president will be and worry more about respect and courtesy.

You left NY and fled up to maine because you thought it 'wasn't safe' here. Well enjoy your 'safeness' up there along with your nice chunk of property and whatever else Maine people do.

NY is going WAY Kerry anyways.... so frankly the people who vote in NY really don't have much of a say in it.

Well whether or not you meant it that way, to me, it sounds almost like a scare tactic. By addressing the people in the Tri-State area that has to be at least 90% of this board.
To be bring up what happened in our own home town is tugging at our emotions....

At this point I really don't think it matters who is president, we are vulnerable to attack at anytime and anyplace... yes, even in Maine. OBL lives in a cave, did you ever think he might have recruits set up in the mountains all over our great country? just a thought...
So to bring up thoughts of 911 to sway voters is dirty to me.
