Yes... but again... if you post something... especially something that will sure egg people on like he did in his original post... people are going to respond.

I think you should 'get a grip' and realize #1 this is the Internet... #2 this is politics... and #3 when somebody calls out a bunch of people... he will get a response.

I should get a grip? It is the internet and yes I should realize everyone does not share the same level of common courtesy and respect but to perpetuate it is childish.

I dont think there is anything at all wrong with disagreeing with Jonn, by all means, he may be WRONG, but my point is that the way you all attack each other and how no-one can have an intelligent conversation or debate on these boards any longer is truly sad.

If you cant have a debate or political discussion without getting mean and nasty, then you need to stop worrying about who our president will be and worry more about respect and courtesy.

If someone wrote VOTE BUSH under their avatar would you jump on them and tell them not to tell you who to vote for?

I personally cant wait till this election is over, I dont even CARE who wins anymore cause I just want people to stop being so completly awful to each other....THATS THE PROBLEM IN THE WORLD , NOT who the heck runs the country...BUT just my opinion....

This is my last post here...too bad I'm wasting it on you but whatever.
1. Jonn didn't call anyone an idiot or even suggest that.
2. He stated it was his thought. As in his opinion on why he would like others to vote for Kerry. I get phone calls up the wazoo lately from people wanting me to vote for this one and that one - they can do it so why can't Jonn? Do you go off on the people that call your house (if they call, maybe your number is unlisted. Mine is not) but if they do, do you tell them off?

Jonn seems to be someone with some intellect. He did't say anyone that votes Bush is stupid or anything like that. He asked that anyone that is a Bush supporter reconsider their vote. That's pretty much what Kerry is asking too.

As for get a grip...maybe you should heed your own words. Jonn wasn't forceful or mean spirited in his post. But yet you are. If it bothers you so much, then don't read it. I believe you have doled out that advice before too.

And i'll agree with you on one thing. I too can't wait for this election to be over so phase two can start. No more about argueing about who will be elected president.

We can then argue about who WILL be the president.

I have no problem with what people say. But if you can't take the heat (and take critisism)... get out of the kitchen (or in this case... off the internet).

And in case if you haven't noticed... I am not the only one that has objected to what he said in the original post.

But as the 'LIW standard' goes.... it seems only a few out there actually say what they mean and he honest. I for one have no problem with saying how I feel. Think long and hard about that.

I actually think many of the posts against jonn and his feelings were well said and intelligent, its when these posts turn into a free for all with no hint of anything except arguing that I get upset, and I'm apparently feeding into it, so I'm done too..

If I called somebody an a-hole... called them fat... called them stupid... thats being nasty.

I said specifically that I felt he did not have a right to tell people in NY how they should vote when you aren't even a RESIDENT of the state anymore. My opinion... and my opinion only. Agree with it. Disagree with it. But respect the fact that I give you my honest opinion.

Blah... if anyone wants to continue with this... my FM mailbox is always open for discussion.

to everyone else - good luck to you all i had a good time chatting with all of you. but the boards have become so damn nasty and mean in the past week or two that i just can't justify coming on here anymore. It's not recreational anymore. it's not fun anymore when all i see are people jumping down other's throats for one thing or another. or giving out smart *** remarks for no reason. that i just can't deal with. and it's eating away at my time at work that i should be doing other things with. i've wanted to wean myself off of here for awhile and now the opportunity has presented itself.

Again... since I am one of the few people on here that actually have the 'balls' to say how I feel when I know it will go against the majority of the site... that means I am condesending.

At least I don't hide behind fake screen names and such to do this.

Frankly I don't care if the entire site thinks I am condesending. I am not on here for a popularity contest. I am going to speak my opinion when I see fit.

I can't disagree with that because frankly there have been TONS of hate threads floaing around recently like you said. Even I decided to stay out of a lot of them cause it was just 'too much' and they WERE getting nasty.


But if you feel the need to leave for a while... thats cool. I have 'left the site' for times myself. I am sure many others have done the same. I just never felt the need to announce it to everybody which is probably why nobody noticed.

I too am considering just going away from here, because its not that you have the balls to say anything when others wont, its that others have respect, and Im not just pointing you out. You often post rude comments when they are not called for...call it having balls...I see it as a childish way of communicating. There has become a very distinct lack of intelligence in posts these days and I know me and Maribelle are not the only ones who feel this way.

If this site has become nothing more then people going ape over posts then why bother posting? It's waste of time to have anger and arguements...I dont understand at all why it continues...

I am gonna say one thing before going to bed.

I want to give Kudos to Mariahsdad.

We worked this out amicably through FMs... and we both agreed that neither one of us (mainly me I suppose) were trying to be nasty.

In fact it was his saying of 'just being a bunch of guys' that really points out what I was saying.

I am glad somebody here agrees that there is a difference between strongly disagreeing with somebody... and outright being 'nasty'.

So I say CHEERS to him!

sorry but b/c my FH is currently serving overseas the only choice for me is Bush, as he and many other military men have told me, they want him in office, so Bush has my vote


oh and my man he DIDN'T CHOOSE THIS, for some people it is the only option available t them if they want a good future. Unfortunately there are people in this world who are not as fortunate as the rest of us. It is not really a choice when it is the really the only choice you have. Oh, and no my man doesn't think we should be there, that is not what I was saying. They are just nervous about an exchange of power while they are in a foreign land. In the past that hasn't always worked well for our military men/women.

With all due respect (and, believe me, I have nothing but respect for our troops and their loved ones) I just want to point out that many military personnel are supporting Kerry rather than Bush. I know quite a few people deployed overseas right now -- many of them, many of their friends, and many of their commanding officers feel that their current commander-in-chief has not listened to their concerns or taken their advice when it comes to strategy. Many of them are also bitter about the extended deployments and sped-up redeployments as well. Therefore, they want Bush out of office and are hoping for a positive change.

I have also been called stupid and someone I know actually pities and feels sorry for people that are voting for Bush. That's mighty nice of her to pity so many people.
