put our cat to sleep tonight

i know this has nothing to do w weddings...and i also haven't been posting on here as much lately...and it's midnight and not too many people are on now...but i'm so upset and i just needed to get it out.

we put one of our cats to sleep tonight. i posted about him a while ago...he had a bladder problem where he was unable to go to the bathroom. it was happening once a month and it cost so much every time to get him fixed...we were taking money out of our wedding savings to pay for him.

and tonight he was really bad and we just don't have the money anymore. so we had to have him put to sleep. and i am so upset. even more than i thought i would be. b/c he COULD have been saved if we could afford it...but we can't...so he had to die.

i'm so sad. i'm sorry, i know there are girls on here who are going through much worse things...but i am such a cat lover. and it's just so hard b/c it was my decision. but he was in so much pain. and i couldn't pay to make him better...

i'm so sad.

I'm sorry jeannette I remember you often talking about your cat's health issues. I know this is not easy for you but it also must have been so difficult to watch your cat live in pain. You loved him and did all you can do for him so please don't blame yourself for this. Any sensible pet owner would have done the same thing as you, you're a great mom!

I am so sorry...I know how you feel. We put our cat to sleep in April...turned out that she had metatstatic lymphoma which was in her abdomen and liver...she was wasting away...you did the right thing...keeping a pet alive who is miserable is not the right thing to do...sounds like that no matter how many times you took the cat to the vet, it always came back, so that shows your cat was suffering...please do not think that it is because you need to pay for your wedding...you did the most humane thing, and it stinks and it hurts, and I know how you are feeling... Don't blame yourself, I promise you did the right thing...feel better!

awwwww I'm so sorry. I love cats too, and dogs. we have like a zoo over here. a few months ago that almost happened to my kitty. she got in a fight or something, and her wounds became infected since it was under her fur we never noticed. they became horrible huge like nasty wounds. big chunks of skin was missing, she was bleeding, it was so bad. we had no money to help her. we were about to have to put her to sleep. thank god though his friend works at a vet who told him of our cat and he helped her for only $50.

it's so sad when an animal dies. or has to be put to sleep. I can't even think of my dogs going, I'll start crying. my brothers cat on xmas eve over 10 yrs ago had to be put to sleep he was in so much pain. it was $1000s to make him better. it was so hard. that's the worst because just knowing if you had the money...

the cats in a better place now though! all happy, and eating fish or something lol.

Oh Jeanette...I am soooo sorry!!!!

I am an animal lover myself and I know how hard it is to loose them...they become such a huge part of your family. I look at my pooches everyday and keep reminding myself that they will not be here forever. Somehow it helps. Don't beat yourself up...you can only do so much! I'm sure you made the right decision.

aww jeanette im so sorry . i know its was a tough decision for you. but believe me you did the right thing just think now he doesnt have to suffer anymore and believe me when he is in heaven he will be thanking you. so please please i hope you dont feel like you are a bad person or anything cause you arent you gave him a great life . but cheer up . i hope you feel better. get some rest tonight

Sending my deepest condolences...I had to put my miniature schnauzer to sleep 3 years ago after having him for 14...It was truly the most awful time for me. I know right now words do not help...but in time I hope you see that money would not have saved him either. It sounds like he was very ill and he is no longer suffering. You obviously loved him and this certainly was not neglectful on your part...remind yourself about all the love and care you gave him. I Know first hand that it takes time...I hope the time passes quickly for you...Terribly sorry again...

I am so so so sorry. I had to put my 10 year old chocolate lab down in september....we thought she just broke her leg, it turned out she had cancer. They wanted to ampute her leg, but i just couldn't do that to her. She was so active and loved to run around, and plus they didn't know if the cancer spread, etc, etc....so we didn't want it to get to the point where she would suffer, so we put her down. It was by far, the worst experience of my entire life. Just know that it does get better over time. I was angry, then i was just depressed. I think god was watching over me or something, bc i was def. taking it the worst and 2 months later, FH called and said his coworker was looking to get rid of his 1yr old Boston terrier...so i adopted him. I never thought i'd be able to get another pet again bc i just can't handle the devastation of having to put them down, but if it weren't for Oreo, i don't know what i'd do with myself. He really is my little angel. Yes, this is the dog that bit my nose last week lol....he now has bootcamp (haha) with a trainer once a week so he doesn't do it again!

I'm so sorry Jeanette. I know that miust have been an extremely hard decision to make. You had to do what you had to do. Don't beat yourself up over it. We all know how much you love your kitties.

Awww, i am so sorry. I know pets our are part of our famliy so it must have been a very hard decision for you. At least he is in a better place. If all dogs go to heaven, im sure there is a cat haeven too At least he isnt in any pain or sick now.

so sorry to hear about the loss of your special little friend...know in your heart you did the right thing.....even if you had the money to keep having him treated for this reoccuring problem, your little kitty would have continued to go through sooo much pain and discomfort.....know you have a kitty angel on your side....

I'm really sorry for you guys. I know it's very hard to lose a pet because you care for them like they're your children. Your feelings are very valid because you are suffering a loss. Veterinary bills are always so ridiculously expensive, so I understand why you chose to put your cat down.

I also had a cat with bladder problems and we had to put him down because the bills were just too much money.

It will get easier. Just give it time.
