If and when you have children, what will your work situation be? Stay home? Work at home? Continue to work and use daycare/family member?

Idealy, I would stay home while FH worked... If we were to have children tomorrow, that would NOT happen... but since we want to wait a few years, who knows what our situation will be.

I would like to be able to stay at home, at least until they got a little older. I guess it will just depend on the money situation at the time. One thing is certain, I will not be lugging my booty into the city to work when I have kids, I would not want to be that far away.

not staying home. hoping to cut down to a 4 day week or at least work from home 1-2 days. Might try to find a job in LI so i don't have to commute to the city every day, but we'll see.
hopefully FMIL and my sister will be able to watch the kid.

In a perfect world I would be able to stay at home to take care of our children. It will all depend upon our financial situation when that time arrives. Chances are I will be working.

I would definitely like to stay home with the kids until they are old enough for school. This would all depend on our financial situation. We don't plan to have children for a few years, so we have some time.

FH owns his own business and I work for him, so ideally I would like to take sometime off in the beginning and then segue back into work by starting off working at home first.

IDEALLY, I'd like to stay home, but we can't do that now, especially living on LI. We've talked about moving to maryland... The only reason I'm even thinking about it is bc it will give me the chance to stay home with my babies.

if we were to have kids now, we would most likely have our parents watch them during work hours. there is NO way we could afford children and a home on 1 salary at this point

ideally stay at home for the first 3 months than go back to work maybe 3 times a week but only for like 5 hours each day - just to get out of the house, see adults, have conversations, keep me sane also it would give me a reason to look nice - i can easily see turning into a frump if you are at home all day and have no place to go hahahaha

Like most girls on here ideally I would love to be a Stay at Home Mom. Realistically this might not happen (at least not for the first one).
So my second ideal situation is to only have to work part time (3 days a week) and have a sitter come to the house. FH works from home so there is some flexiblity but he needs uninterupted time to work and has to stick to a work schedule not always the babies schedule.

i would LOVE to stay home but its just not financially possible
my mother said she would watch my kids so she will do that and there is also an awesome daycare in my building at work but its expensive. . .
