we mentinoned getting married now & then but no real conversation about it. however a year before we got engaged we were at my friends engagement party & FH commented on how his dad (who passed away) would have loved to see us get married. in his drunken state FH said, 'so you really want to get married?' & i said, 'yes.' then a year later he proposed.

Yes, we did! He really wanted to know what I liked and didn't like. I think he wound up showing me the actual picture of the ring he designed to see if I liked it, which i did! Thank goodness because I think he had already had it made.

I told FH that I wanted him to propose after we both graduated law school and had jobs. He got a job in June and I got a job the previous november (I graduated first). We went ring shopping together to the jewelry exchange in nj. We saw lots of different rings but I fell in love with one stone and one setting in particular. The whole car ride home I kept talking about how much I liked it and he kept saying he didnt think he was getting it for me bc it was too expensive. Then he went back a few days later and got it for me and proposed that weekend at dinner. It was a nice place so I knew he was proposing and even told my friends! It would have been funny if he faked me out but he didnt

We always talked about getting married but after our year anniversary he was curious on the ring I would like and i would look online for things in our price range that I liked. He actually bought the ring on our one year anniversary but didnt give it to me until Christmas.

I am glad he asked what i liked because i could just imagine if he picked it out himself

wow I feel dumb I am the only one who never talked about getting engaged!

I didn't know he had money for a ring...

I never picked out or told him what I wanted (and I love it!)

When he asked me my heart stopped (well so it felt like) since we had never once dicussed it

Talk about being suprised!!

i never really knew when he was finally going to pop the question...i felt he was taking a while lol but one day i randomly said that my dream ring is a classic round cut setting i just love it...

Nope we didn't discuss the ring at all. I had no idea he was even thinking about proposing..Hence the look of shock & seriousness on my face when he actually did it. Awwwe the memories, lol.

we did talk about it.

he didnt really know what kinda ring i wanted.. we went and looked at them and i pointed out the ones i liked...

i let him make the final choice though..

we talked about it, even went looking, he knew what I liked. On the day he proposed, we had went to Michael C. Fina (he already had the ring) he want to throw me off, so when he did it I had now clue.

We went to fortunoff to try on rings for fun. He listened to everything I said and my ring size and then designed my ring and had it made by his jewler. I love the ring and it has special meaning to me especially since he designed it.

yes..we loooked at rings..well first it was me showing him rings but then we looked more serious at them...now I have the best ring for me!

hmm we didnt really talk about when we were gonna get engaged. we would just say things like 'when we're married blah blah'

as for my ring, i already had the band that i wanted and he took it from me at a certain point

We talked about it...Fh wanted to propose the day after I graduated from college, but I wanted to wait until I finished my masters. I had jokingly showed him rings when we decided we were ready to get married, but didn't expect him to get them until at least the fall/winter (this was around June). We got engaged on July 15, during the home run derby (not AT the home run derby, but it was going on...FH and I are huge baseball freaks). The ring was similar to ones I had shown FH, but twice as beautiful.

We started talking about it 3 months after we started dating. Then one day last summer he just said I think its time to start looking for rings. So we looked together, I picked out 3 and I left it up to him to pick the one he was getting me. He picked the perfect one, my first choice!!

we were together for 8 years before he proposed so yes we talked about getting married often....we went ring shopping in may 08 and i picked out the ring he didnt propose until nov 08 but i was still completely surprised

Yes, we talked about getting married a month after we got together. We felt and said we were soul mates even right before we even started dating!! We are a perfect match - we always knew we would be married.

And yes, we went and I picked out a princess cut diamond, but the actual stone he got was larger and amazingly beautiful so I could not be happier!! I love the ring he got for me.
