QOTD 3.3.14 - Long Island Weddings

I am the youngest in my family and my two older sisters have 4 children between them so my mom has been telling me to wait and take my time, But my FH is the oldest and his parents are dying for grandchildren so pretty much every time I see them they mention it and make comments about the honeymoon and etc.

FH is nowhere near ready for kids so we will definitely be waiting at least a year or so after the wedding to even start trying.

My FH isn't in a rush either lol so I am sure we will be waiting a year.

we hear the baby question, too, but ive been answering tricky questions for a long time now so ive got it covered.

when your SO is 9 years younger than you, you've heard it all.

Ditto! Except I'm 36 and my FH is 6 years younger! The day after we got engaged my mom actually sent me a text with these emojis

lol. Like Dani10, I've been doing this for years. In the end, it's whatever you two decide. Clearly we won't wait very long but can i at least get a few months!?

Next time, shrug it off and change the subject!

QOTD 3.3.14 - Long Island Weddings

I'm 27 and FH is 5 years older than me. We're moving into an apartment and plan on buying a house before we have kids. I would like to start trying in 3 years and FH is on board with that. I want to travel and enjoy living with him for a while first.

I get annoyed when people ask about it because I honestly feel like if you're not my mother or father, it's none of your damn business! I know so many people that have infertility issues and it's heartbreaking just to think about asking someone that question that CAN'T have kids or has been trying for years and it's just not working out. I pray that I won't have any issues, but the truth of the matter is you never know until the time comes. I usually just smirk and ignore the question or say eventually. Like…I'm not even married yet! Back off!

Ugh I get asked this a lot. My FMIL asks all the time. We want to wait a year or so before trying to get pregnant
