:::QOTD 3.8.10:::

AHHH sorry...I can't believe I'm actually botw-even though I'm crazy nervous about this and feel like I'm going to royally eff up my duties

anywayyyssss because i just found out i was botw, and didn't have much time to think, today's question is going to be relatively easy, although not the nicest

out of all the weddings you have been to, what was the worst aspect you ever had to deal with?

I haven't been to many weddings, but my cousin's stands out the most to me, and not for good reasons..i think the worst was the food, because we didn't even get dinner-that and the fact that there were 3x as many guests as there were seats..

so let's hear them-what pitfalls should we all work to avoid?

I HATE outdoor weddings, but that might be just me! I hate the damn bees buzzing around bo-k's!

I haven't been to many weddings; however, the worst thing that happened was a wedding that I went to when I was 8 years old.

The food was AWFUL...now for an 8 year old to say that...and for me to remember 16 years that, that is really really bad.

i went to a wedding (out of state) where the foood was AWFUL!!!!!

the cocktail hour was just like a cheese plate and some still frozen mozzarella sticks and jalapeno poppers.

soup was cold, salad was soggy, and then the mashed potatoes served with the meal were solid as a brick...u stuck ur fork in and the whole pile came up! Clearly everything was just frozen and then defrosted....GROSS!!!

needless to say we all left the wedding hungry and ordered pizza to the hotel!!!

A good friend of mine had a very nice ceremony in which her dad stood up and thanked the groom for not having sex with the bride until thier wedding day.

Umm so I guess embarassing speeches while still at the church.

I got really sick from the food at a wedding once. FH did too. We were the only two who had the vegetarian entree, and we think that's what made us ill.

I never told the person whose wedding it was because there's no need for her to know.

It was a bit of a factor when we were looking at RH's...that place was off our list, definitely.

HANDS DOWN the worst wedding I ever went to was at the Huntington Townhouse RIGHT before it closed down. The cocktail hour room was FREEZING and the food was all cold, the reception room was sweltering and my dinner was again luke warm at best. They had NO JOKE what must have been 5 weddings going on at the same time because I know I saw at least that many brides in the hallways waiting for entrances, or outside coming in... there were brides everywhere LOL!!! And there was no where to tell you what room you belonged in so people were in and out of the wrong cocktail hours... It was like non-stop chaos.

Sadly....this past weekend at cousin's wedding.

She had no organization and everything was done the day of (I was folding programs at 3pm on wedding day). We also had no direction or rehearsing so I actually walked down the wrong aisle at first. The worst though was probably the band ---this was THEIR FIRST WEDDING and they were a rock band that normally plays in bars (a friend of a friend)---so didn't play music that you could really dance to.

We've been to a number of weddings and I think the worst one didn't have really good music and the food was ok, not really that good though.

i haven't been to many but i was at a wedding once at an air force base and there was a girl who was like cousin of the bride and she was wearing white stretch pants with a thong and ... lol no fault of the couple but everyone was talking about it. it was so trashy and distracting i couldn't get over it.

to compensate, my date and i got super trashed and made out on the lawn and lost his car keys and we had to have someone come bring us his spares the next day which was awesome. and classy.

any 'bad' wedding that i can think of either had bad music, or bad food, or both .... i don't really notice most of the other things.

to me every wedding i've been to has been the same. nothing special stands out about any of them. If i had to choose one, I would have to choose one that I went to where all they had was speeches the entire night!!!
No dancing or any entertainment at all!

I haven't been to many weddings but I think the worst thing about one wedding was that the dance floor was in a different room than the tables.

I went to one upstate where my cousin couldn't really afford the wedding she put together. Well by the end of the night, and the end of open bar, she was standing by the bar, ripping open the cards to look for cash to pay for guests drinks.

It could've been worse, she could've made us pay ourselves.

i think the food and the music make the party! anytime i didn't enjoy a wedding it was because of that.

I love my cousin and I had a GREAT time at her wedding, but it was nothing like a LI wedding. Her cocktail hour was assorted cheeses and the bar ran out of beer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They had to go to the store and get some. Plus, there was only 1 bartender and always a HUGE line...thankfully I drank beer all night and just helped myself from the little cooler they had on the side

Oh, and you had to choose chicken or steak when you sent in your RSVP -- it wasn't good, but we had pizza at the afterparty to make up for it!

i think most out-of-state weddings that i've been to have required the meal choice with the RSVP ... well, it was just 3 or 4 weddings ... all in MA. I guess they do things differently up there

I went to a wedding where the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception were all in one room. I really didn't like it. One other one: they had an outdoor cocktail hour in the middle of the day in august right by the water. I had so many mosquitos bites and was sooo miserable.

Congratulations on BOTW!!!

The worst wedding I went to was a 2 years ago, it had nothing to do with the place. The girl that FH's friend married was from Canada, and the traditions of a Canada you have someone narrator the reception - there were tons of speeches, her 2 MOHs talked back and forth for 45 minutes, her father talked for about a half hour, her uncle talked for a half hour, her mom talked for 15 minutes, and her brother-in-law was narrating in-between, THANKFULLY they served dinner during this time, but after all of that they did the FOB/Bride dance and MOG/Groom dance, we had 20 minutes of dancing and then went home!!

It was the WORST, we talk about it all the time... . . . .
