Im going to buy my daughter really ugly clothes and shave her head. That should keep guys away from her long enough.
i think thats a great plan
but i am gonna start at a young age, and like i said above get them started in alot of after school activities, get them into sports and all that stuff. Even with DH this applies, he actually was a real good kid until he went to college lol. But when i talk about cutting school, and hanging out and things, he just looks at me like WOW i didnt do any of that. But he was into sports always was. And after school he didnt just hang out on the streets. He was on baseball teams, so after school he always had games. Not only that but he was also on track, played soccer for some time, even took karate as a kid. He couldn't get into bad things bc he didnt have the time. After school he had too many activities to just hang around getting into trouble.
I know with me and my friends, we werent doing any of that. So of course after school we were roaming the streets lol.
Sports is a great idea. I forgot to mention I was big on sports. I was in gymnastics too so that kept me very busy.
But then again I was also super flat-chested so that also helped me stay a virgin
joe took gymnastics for a short period of time too. But the girls i did know who were into sports, they didnt grow up quickly, they were too focused on sports to worry about hanging out after school doing stupid things
youre gorgeous leah, i dont think that matters.
They do keep you very focused! I remember that was all I cared about it. One summer I was in gymnastics school the WHOLE sumemr from 7AM to 4PM. It really kept me from what all my other friends were doing and I loved it. I dont think sports should be forced on a kid but Im going to try a few things out with mine and see what they like.
Aww and thank you! But seriously when I was younger you couldnt tell if I was facing forward or backward I used to get teased and its so funny now cause these little boys acted like they cared about boobs at that age when they wouldnt even know what to do with them back then

God..Denise this is hard lol
Im a guidance counselor so I talk with kids everyday and believe me Im still surprised by what I hear....my parents raised me catholic and also I was just plain scared to have sex lol
I would hope my children would be involved with sports, dance etc...at 12,13,14, the reality is its after that I would worry..I dont think any of us would forsee our 7th grade child having sex....
If I did know or my child told me I would educate them, encourage them to wait and ultimatley yes teach them about contraseptives...I wouldnt want my 12 13 14 15 yr old on the pill..their bodys are still growing....
it is very hard, thats why i dont think there is a wrong or right answer. Parents do whatever they feel is best and when youre faced with such a difficult decision you wont know what you will do until it happens.
I think bc of the fact that i remember kids having sex in JHS and the fact that i grew up quickly too, i do see it as a possibility and know kids start young. So i think i would start watching out for signs at a very young age.

exactly, i wont force them to do it if they hate it. But i know joe and he will start playing sports with them at a VERY young age. He started little league at the age of 4. So hopefully they will be into it but i will find something they like. Whether its dance, gymnastics, sports, acting classes, karate, there has to be something hahaha.
I wish i had small boobs when i was younger, i got too much unwanted attention from it. Also i think in a way its one reason i grew up quick. I was getting alot of attention from the older guys bc of it, they were boobs obsessed i think if i didnt have big boobs from such a young age, i would be more focused on other things rather than the attention i was getting from guys.

I really do think a big chest at a young age doesnt help HAHA! Seriously, who knows how i would have turned out had I been more developed like my other friends. Guys ignored me and after a while I learned to live with it and I became a tomboy. Im going to WISH small boobs on my daughter!!!

Quite honestly, I think that age is much too young BUT my neice at 12 knew what sex was because her friends talk about it and of course TV has something to do with it.
My parents' taught me morals and values. No need for me to go on BC- I was pretty responsible. And, one movie that I watched at a young age that scared the crap out of me was KIDS. Does anyone remember that movie? It seriously is a wake up call to people.

trust me its better, i think just the simple fact that by 12 years old I had D cup, is what made me grow up. Like you said, otherwise i wouldn't have gotten so much attention and would've focused on other stuff lol. The funny thing is that back then the style was to wear baggy clothes and out of all the girls i dressed more like a guy than most of them. I wore pants that were 7 sizes bigger, always had hoodies or big shirts on, i wore timbs, and big door knocker earrings. But that was also the style so guess guys were used to it and liked it.
Now the style is too sexy, so to have a daughter with big boobs and dress sexy would be horrible.

Re: QOTD
my initial reaction is to say no. i feel like there would be something wrong with putting a young girl on bc so early (in reference to drugs and a developing body). there is something about bc that doesnt sit well with me...like the whole adding things to your body that really shouldnt be there (like if ure just taking it to prevent pregnancy)...it mussst do something. ive been on it for forever now so im totally a hypocrite but i cannot wait to stop taking it. i just feel like its bad....just unnatural.
it seems like technology might also aid in kids growing up faster bc of all the information accessible

OMG Chris and I were just talking about that!!! I wore BAGGYYYYY jeans and over-sized Polo sweaters with Jordans, Timbs, whatever. But it was strictly BOY gear! And girls nowadays have a contest on whos butt crack is sticking out more. I cant believe how much the style changed. And even when I started wearing tighter jeans they were all really high-waisted!! Remember that?? I used to love my CK Jeans and when I look at pics now they came up to my belly button

I completely blame technology for how fast kids are growing up these days. They have direct access to anything they want to know. They can see what idiot celebrities are doing at any given time. And my space allows them to make profiles with severe PUCKER-LIP syndrome. These little girls try to top eachother with sexier default pics and theyre like 14 years old. Its terrible.

i know its funny, my parents used to beg me to wear a dress or skirt or something form fitting at least so i can dress like a girl. I remember even for assembly when girls had to wear white shirts with black skirts, i would wear black jeans but one time i decided to wear a skirt and OMG the reaction i got was so uncomfortable. I remember walking into the auditorium and everybody saying 'OMG she has legs' and omg wow shes not dressed like a guyi didnt wear a skirt to assembly again haha but yeah i did go overboard, my earrings were down to my shoulders, had the HUGE jeans, timbs, nautica jackets, triple down big coats, carhartt jackets lol. Then yeah wearing polo sweaters were huge, tommy hilfiger and nautica sweaters.
it was so different than it is now

Yea, that is def my plan. I was much too young to watch it. My parents rented it from Blockbuster when it first came out for me. They didn't know how bad that movie was. I watched it alone and I sat there and was stunned. It really scared the crap out of me. I def plan on saving that movie for my own kids. They need something like that to scare them.

I know i have some though, and i had this notebook with old things and i still have my HS ID and just from that pic you can tell how bad i was. My friend has alot of good pics, i NEED to get some from her. I am gonna look through my boxes and will definitely post, it was too funny.

I need to find some pics too! We can start a new thread! Post pics of the style back when we were young or something like that.

I say now that I would not. That having been said, I am not a parent and do not know what I would truly do until I am in that situation. I hope that fh & I are the types of parents that our children will be comfortable enough to talk to about anything.

it was cool then now its like lets dress up this 10 yr old like theyre 18 in something short that draws attn to them
