Here is the QOTD (inspired by Utterhappiness and I's conversation):
Are you going to splurge on YOURSELF for your wedding? Are you planning on buying yourself real/expensive jewels, designer shoes and expensive lingerie or are you planning on sticking to a budget?
I definitely wanted to stick to a budget, although now that I've been shopping around, I can't help but be lured by the more expensive items and justifying the purchase in my head by saying 'it only happens once...'

I think that the sooner I find something more pricey I'd get it, but the closer the wedding gets I'd be less likely to splurge.
i would reeeaaaaalllllly like some manolos.... maybe i'll check out ebay

I'm going to splurge on a big spa day right before the wedding - I want to get the works! But so far I haven't gone too crazy and I'm trying to stick to a budget on everything else.

I am not splurging on anything. FH and I have students loans that are more than a mortgage payment and we are paying for the wedding ourselves. Any extra money is going to a house so we don't have to rent anymore.

I think somewhere in between! As much as I love shoes I feel like the Manolos will be hidden under my dress! I think real expensive jewels will be toooo expensive but the lingerie I want!! :)

I am splurging on the things that we are paying for which are invites and favors. Nothing really for myself. FH said he would buy me my DOJ but I rather him stash the money in the bank. The wedding happens once- yes but I find my future and savings to be more important.

Re: QOTD--8/12/08
If I splurge I might do Bpics for FH but then again that's really not for me per se . Although it will be nice to look at them in 30 years and say I wish I still looked like that
Maybe I'll get a massage the day before.

I would definitely splurge on shoes and lingerie for the big day. It does only happen once

Re: QOTD--8/12/08
As much as I would like the splurge, I can't afford it. There is no money for me to justify... so I guess I will be sticking to a budget, unless I happen to come into money

Definitely sticking to a budget... there are a lot of other things I'd rather spend money on than something I'll only wear one day! I'll probably get my shoes at Payless or something.

Re: QOTD--8/12/08
I wish I were, but I'm definitely not a splurger. I'm in finance and have budget on the brain So far everything I have purchased or negotiated has been within our allotted amount so I'm very happy about that! Besides, we are paying for this wedding solely by ourselves so it's difficult with rent and all of our other bills If there will be ANY sort of splurging, it will be on the honeymoon since it's been EIGHT years since our last vacation!!!

Re: QOTD--8/12/08
I probably won't splurge..I would rather save the money to put down on a house after the wedding..I am very lucky to have an older sister with LOTS of jewelry. That will probably be my 'something borrowed'.
...but hopefully FH will splurge on my wedding band!!!

Re: QOTD--8/12/08
i love this question!
Honestly, for me i splurge whenever i want to. I figure if i love it & i cant find it cheaper & i can afford it then why not get it. I dont have to justify it. Its how i am. I want it i get it. Period! I work hard & so does FH. Thank fully we are blessed to own homes already. So if we or me or him fall in love with something then why not if its not hurting anyone else i dont see why it should be a problem. GO FOR IT!
