1. I was a Public Justice Major at SUNY Oswego with a minor in Sociology. It was like a criminal justice program.

2. Not in my field at all Working at a mortgage company for the past 6 and a half years.

3. I wanted to be a lawyer when I was little.

4. Never thought i would be in the business world. Always thought I would be in social work or helping people in some ways. Maybe someday....

1. For those of us that went to college, what was your major?
Math!

2. Are you now 'practicing' in that field?
Not really - I am now a lawyer, but I practice in the finance and corporate group.

3. What did you want to be when you were a little kid?
a lawyer or an architect!

4. Are you doing what you thought you'd be doing?
sort of, yes!

2. Only one, I am a 4th grade teacher. I didnt know how the whole philosophy major works!

1. For those of us that went to college, what was your major? Television

2. Are you now 'practicing' in that field? Yep! At Sony!

3. What did you want to be when you were a little kid? Chef

4. Are you doing what you thought you'd be doing? Kinda, because I am a chef at home for FH! I cook for him all the time :)

1. For those of us that went to college, what was your major?
I majored in Applied Math Statistics at Stony Brook University. I always knew I wanted to be a math teacher, so I worked on getting certified on the side. I did not have to minor in education.

2. Are you now 'practicing' in that field?
Yep.

3. What did you want to be when you were a little kid? I always said I wanted to be a doctor, but I think it was b.c my parents said so. I dont think I ever really wanted to be one, in the back of my mind I always knew being in the education field would make me happy.

4. Are you doing what you thought you'd be doing? Yes and no. I knew I would be a math teacher, but I never knew that I would be taking up so many diff. administrative positions at my school. I didnt think that I would be a dean after 3 years and I definitely didnt think that I would be looking at the possibility of being a principal at 27.

2. I do actually work in the Marketing dept at a publishing company
3. I wanted to be an actress...still do! Then I wanted to be a vet, a teacher, a model...
4. No, I had no idea I would be in business. I actually went to school at first to be a Spanish Education major, but then changed it right away because I realized I def. didn't want to be a teacher. I guess I thought business had a lot of opportunities...I dunno...

I majored in Elementary education in college.

1. For those of us that went to college, what was your major? I have a bachelors in Sociology/Anthropology

2. Are you now 'practicing' in that field? Not exactly

3. What did you want to be when you were a little kid? When I was little I wanted to be a lawyer

4. Are you doing what you thought you'd be doing? Well i'm in the legal field but in a completely different position than i thought I would be. i have the greatest job in the world though and wouldn't trade it for anything!

Fashion Buying Merchandising / Design

Nope

3. What did you want to be when you were a little kid?
Defense Lawyer

Nope. I pictured my career to be like Anne Hathaways in the Devil Wears Prada but I know work in the wonderful world of Finance!

Environmental Studies at Adelphi

2. Are you now 'practicing' in that field?
Sort of. I worked at an environmental company doing office and field work (which is more of what I should be doing), and now I'm at a different environmental company just doing office work. I like it much better.

3. What did you want to be when you were a little kid?
I didn't really have any idea. Except a mom eventually. (Thats a job!)

4. Are you doing what you thought you'd be doing?
Pretty much. I knew right from HS I wanted to be in the environmental field, and here I am, even if it is just doing office work.

4. Yes and no....I think I decided I wanted to teach my first year of college but I never dreamed that this would be my job...but I love it

Double major. Horticulture & Business.

Not really anymore.

Florist

Yes and no.

1. For those of us that went to college, what was your major? English and Philosophy, Politics, and Law - I was pre-law

2. Are you now 'practicing' in that field? I was all set to go to law school (Brooklyn!) but then I decided to go into book publishing instead. Books were always my first love.

3. What did you want to be when you were a little kid? a teacher

4. Are you doing what you thought you'd be doing? nope, but I love it! I guess I should have known I would have ended up working on books somehow - I love them!

1. For those of us that went to college, what was your major?
I went to Adelphi for Social Work. I have my Masters in Social Work but also received my BSW during undergrad.

2. Are you now 'practicing' in that field?
Yes, I am a Social Worker in a public school which I love. I also work part time as a therapist for families and children at a small agency in Bayshore.

3. What did you want to be when you were a little kid?
Teacher

4. Are you doing what you thought you'd be doing?
no never thought I would be a Social Worker...i didn't even know what that was! I always wanted to be a teacher but switched my major in college when I realized I wanted to help people in a different way.

Yup

1. My Major was Elementary Ed 1-6 and minor Psychology..Masters in Special Ed.

2. Yep..last year Kindergarten, this year 4th

3. Teacher, a marine biologist or forensic scientist lol

4. Yes, the teacher thing was always number 1 the others were just ideas, but no regrets at all

Comp Sci

2. Are you now 'practicing' in that field?

hmm... i'm still in tech but not really programming. I only program things for fun like our wedding website.

3. What did you want to be when you were a little kid?

It varied from time to time. It went from being a marine biologist to FBI agent.

4. Are you doing what you thought you'd be doing?

Not really, I didn't really know what to expect after college and I guess what I'm doing now kind of fits me but it's just not in an industry I love. I'm trying to look for a new job outside of the financial world and more into the creative side.

Apparel and Textiles with a focus on Journalism and Public Relations

2. Are you now 'practicing' in that field?

No. I worked in the industry for three years and HATED it. Maybe it is my mid-western upbringing, but I didn't think it was the end of the world if a lipstick didn't make it into vogue magazine. Now I am going to Grad School to get my MS in Secondary English Education

3. What did you want to be when you were a little kid?

I wanted to be an actress, a romance novel author, and a book store owner.

4. Are you doing what you thought you'd be doing?

Not at all, but strangely enough, I am happy with the path that I have chosen now.

Ok started off as a dance major then went to health sciences and ended up with occupational therapy

No I'm still in school for it

A rock star, then a vet, then a radio city rockette

Nope. but that's ok I really like what field I am in now. Health care is the place for me.

i majored in liberal arts, then early childhood

early childhood yes

i wanted to be on broadway haha or a teacher

sort of..im a teacher but i would love to be in a school district BUT i dont have my bachelors yet so hopefully in a few years yes
