~*~*~*~*~ QOTD Friday 4/16/10 ~*~*~*~*~

Good morning ladies!!!

Here's today's question of the day:

Are 'Wedding Colors' or a Color Scheme necessary? What are your Wedding Colors and why did you choose them?

My answer:

I don't really have a color scheme, but I am staying the 'fall color' family. My CPs have circus and cinnamon roses in them so I'm trying to stay in that color scheme. I fell in love with the circus rose the minute I saw them, so now I'm trying to find BM gowns to complement the fall colors.

What about you???

I find a color scheme helpful so there is some kinda of continuity throughout everything - which for me is important.

But i am only keeping it for the wedding - the eparty colors were nothing like the wedding. Even our STD's dont have the colors of the wedding. I guess in some ways i want it to be a surprise (for those who i dont talk to about it lol)

But the colors are blush, mauve and dusty rose. So far the invitations are really the only things that are in progress w/ those colors. Starting BM dresses in a couple weeks and once those are picked out I will do flowers.

I'm not going w a theme either. I love fall colors..oranges and purples. I'll probably just try to bring the fall colors out in my decorating of the space.

i think its a good idea to have a color scheme.... our main color is YELLOW!! love yellow n not a pale yellow like yellow yellow lol...trying to figure out what other color to throw in there too either pink, black, dark purple ahh choices choices! i think its not to use the color to set off with the invitations, flowers, centerpieces, bm dresses of course n all that good stuff

My wedding colors are yellow (probably like in that movie I love you man) and fuschia. I love yellow and b/c it's a summer wedding i thought it was best to go with such bright colors. I threw the fuschia in there as an accent color. Do i think it's necessary? Probably not but I think it helps bring the whole wedding together - organization wise at least

I think its important to have at least a color scheme so everyting matches and flows together...

As of right now... im thinking my colors are going to be Tiffany Blue and brown accents... im not really sure about the brown though... on items it looks really good together but my dresses might be the blue with white or ivory sashes... i love the way they look together and i think it will be really nice... then i can incorporate pinks and yellows into the flowers as well to make it look stunning... ( i think at least) im not 100% sure...

I don't think a 'theme' or certain 'colors' are absolutely necessary. Everyone's wedding is different and everyone likes to do different things.

I'm not having a theme to my wedding. I am having wedding colors though. My wedding party will be in the color Sangria. Its very pretty. I think having colors adds a nice touch to a wedding.

Happy Friday to all

I wouldn't say that a scheme or specific colors are necessary but in my opinion it does help a lot with organizing and provides a continuity sort of organization I guess. But i've been to weddings with certain schemes and others that were just a general range of 'fall' 'spring' Colors and they were all beautiful.

The colors I chose were Red White and Black. Not exactly summery but very classic. I really wanted a Pink White and Black...But the hubs vetoed it saying that him and his friends would refuse. It's been a great scheme so far. My florist LOVED it. lol.

FYI - circus roses are beautiful! just so pretty!

i don't really have a color scheme and i think my sister has a heart attack everytime i say that to her.

i think i am just going to stick with spring colors. no actual color scheme. i'm not going to have my BM & MOH dress colors match everything else, like invites and flowers or anything like that

I wouldn't say necessary but the color scheme is at least helpful when deciding on dress colors and flowers colors and overall decor of the room.

I didn't really plan a color scheme or a theme per say, it more just happened.

Two of the colors came from my dress: ivory & champagne (my MOH will wear a champagne colored dress), the third color came from FH. He's wearing an ivory suit (beach wedding) and wanted to wear a blue tie, so that is where the 3rd color came from. All the colors we have chosen are very muted variations, very soft and romantic.

As far as theme, we are getting married on the beach but didn't want to go over board with that, so we just have a few pencil star fish details planned here and there to tie it in: On the invites and at the place settings.

My colors are chocolate brown and tiffany blue! The BM dresses are in my album. I was going to do black instead of brown but my FH didn't really like the idea of black BM's dresses with a tiffany blue sash. I love the colors and I think it is nice to have a color scheme of some sort.

My colors are jewel tones. I was trying to go a little lighter since its the begining of spring but its not working out that way. The girls are going to wear dark purple, a there flowers are going to be purle and hot pink and so are mine!

i'm using the same color scheme on everything wedding related. e-party will be completely different colors since it's so far apart from the wedding.

for the wedding, i'm doing burgundy, olive green and sage green...a little bit of autumn, a little bit of the vineyards.

BMs will wear burgundy dresses - boKs will be shades of olive and sage green
CPs will incorporate the 2 colors
invitations, STDs, escort cards, menus, etc. will also have the same color scheme as well

to me it's important to tie everything together so the entire event is cohesive.

I think it's good to have some idea of color so that all the components of the wedding look cohesive.

We're doing black and deep red with gold/champagne accents. More vintage glam look.

BMs in black and MOH In deep red.

I actually just made my inspiration board last night.

Pics are in my album.

I think it's important to have an idea of colors this way everything falls into places and blends nicely.

I used navy and yellow and kind of a nautical theme to go with my hall... Using anchor monogram and nautical stripes in ribbon etc. Not an overkill theme but just enough

My colors are blackberry (purple-pinkish color) and light pink. My theme will be my colors and then I will also incorporate some cherry blossom elements into the wedding.

I already told FH that when we have our own house we are going to have a cherry blossom tree in our yard!!

I have been noticing them all over the place and I keep telling FH when I see one. He thinks I'm a little too obsessed with them..haha.
