It's finally Friday ladies!!!! So for today, let's talk last name.
Do you plan on completely changing your last name when you get married? If not, are you going to hyphenate it?
If you are changing it, what nationality is your current last name and what nationality will your new last name be?
PS. Saturday's QOTD is probably going to be late because I will be driving home from Jersey.

Well my last name is technically an English name, but it's not my real family name.
My Grandpa changed it from a very polish name to a simple English name before my Dad was born.
I guess he was sick of no one being able to pronounce it No one really knows the reason.
So I will be going from my fake English last name to a very italian last name.
I'm glad because I will no longer have to explain this when people ask what my last name is

I am going to completely change my last name. Both FH and I are Polish and have incredibly long last names so there is no way I could hyphenate it. I don't mind changing my last name bc FH last name is a little easier to pronounce as well as spell.

I'm not going to torture my children and make their name Wisneski-Costigliacci. Can you imagine the kindergarten homework?

I'll change my last name as well. My last name is Italian because of only my great-granfather on my dad's side, so I'm like the 3rd generation. FH's last name is Italian so it'll be no change in nationality just in letters
Initials now: LC
Initials after: LD
Btw, I must say (because it's funny) FH's initials are: TD like the bank
And FFIL's initials are: STD

yup, i'm going to change mine. FH is totally old fashioned about that stuff, plus I can't really hyphenate my italian last name with his super irish last name. it just doesn't sound good.
keeping my name isn't really an option with my family.

I will definitely be changing my name for my hubby's. but sadly i will be saying goodbye to 'jlo'
My mom is italian and portuguese. My dad is french, cuban, guatamalan, spanish, and puerto rican....yea... LOL and for some reason people always think I'm either 100% italian or persian???

I will be changing my last name, no hyphens because both last names begin with W and my new name is kinda long.
My last name now is Wilson (English/Irish) My new name will be pronounced Wizowski but it's spelled a whole lot different! And it's Polish of course!!!

FH & I are both Italian and I will definately be changing my last name.
I love busting my FH chops so playing around itold him I would keep my last name, but make it my new middle name and take h is last name as my own. He totally forbid it and told me i didn't love him anymore. :sigh: he keeps asking me if i am for real or if i'm just playing around. i still have him guessing (i'm so not even thinking of doing this in real life)
Anywho, his last name is going to be a hell of a lot easier to pronounce and spell so i'm happy about it.

I competely changed my last name. My last name was italian and even though my hubby his hispanic his last name is italian from his great great great grandpa who went to ecuador from italy.

I guess I am the 2nd person who will not be changing my name. I like my last name and it goes with my name (Lana Lerner)- Jewish name
I can't see myself as Lana Nunez.
My son actually has a hyphanated last name so I think it works out just fine...LOL

I'm keeping my last name. My dad had only girls so I wanna keep it. It's going to be LaMattina-Meriam. I know its long but whatever.
eta: Fh has been married before so theres already a Mrs.C Meriam... I dont wanna be in her shadow so I'd prefer to keep my individually
