First, thank you Meredith for making me BOTW!!!!! I'm going to ask Monday's question now, because I'm not sure if I can do it early tomorrow.
Since there have been some posts about living together, I figured my first question would be about that.
Many people say that when you first move in, you get into more fights since it's an adjustment. For those who already live with FH, how did that adjustment go? What was the hardest part? Did you fight more or was the transition smooth? What was the best part?
For those who don't live with FH, what do you think the hardest part will be? How do you think the transition will go? What part of living together are you most excited for?
For us, the transition was pretty smooth. We moved in after being together for 7 months so we were still in the honeymoon stage, so maybe that helped. I love being able to come home to him every day, sleep with him every night, and wake up to him every morning. I love cooking him dinner, and that we are making a home together and are a team. We both were soooo excited when we first moved in that I don't think we fought more. I liked learning more about him and his daily habits.

I moved in with my fh last march, Its GREAT!!!! At first we bickered a bit more (I would not say fight) about stupid things, leaving dishes in the sink. . . . . I'm a bit of a neat freak and my fh is a little on the messy side - honestly I think its the best thing that we did it has brought us closer

our transition was super smooth. we were still in that 'honeymoon' phase when we moved in so i think that helped. the hardest part was adjusting to the amount of stuff FH has. you would think he was a girl. he saves everything!!
This is my FH!! I think he has everything saved for all 28 years of his life. hehhehe He still has things that he is bringing into our apt from his mom's and he moved in 6 months ago!!!

great question! We moved in together about a year ago, right after we got engaged and had been dating about a year. I wanted to wait for the ring to make that move. We found a great apartment together. Overall it's been great. We share the cooking and cleaning. He does way more laundry than I do, but I scrub things clean more. We have a full size bed and sometimes I wish it was a queen but he works two nights a week and I work one night so I get the bed all to myself then anyway! It is so wonderful to see him when we can, because we work such insane schedules, if we get an hour together we can enjoy it!
Also, it will make the transition to being 'married' a cinch! Oh and someone else mentioned this too... FH doesn't really eat leftovers unless I mention it. lol
Same with mine about the leftovers. He just forgets they are there. Hahah i have to eat them or remind him or they will be wasted.

Honestly, I don't remember.... but it was never anything major. Little things like how I cook this or bathroom habits.
I think we adjusted great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The hardest part for us was divying up chores and bills. I don't think we fought more, in fact we probably fought less, because before we moved in together both of our living situations were less than ideal. Also, we got our puppy within a week of moving into our own place together so we were proud new parents. LOL! It didn't take us long at all to get into a rhythm with paying bills and taking care of the house.
The very best part is waking up next to him every morning.

It was a huge adjustment for me. Getting used to his routines and little quirks was tough. I also got really homesick and cried almost every night for the first 2-3 weeks. Once that passed I really got into it and became a little housewife, and loved it!!!!

Next month will be a year that we have been living together. The biggest adjustment was being around each other sooo much. Before that we would only see each other on the weekends, so getting used to being in each others space all the time was hard. We never had fights until we moved in, but those fights have definitely helped us more. And luckily we have a big enough house that we can have our seperate time when we need it.

I'd say we probably get into more scuffles than we did when we didn't live together, but we went from being long distance (NY to Ohio) to living together so it was definitely an adjustment.
Mostly we get into fights because FH is the original absent minded professor...he's so smart, but he'd leave the house w/o his head if it weren't screwed on to his body.

I feel your pain with this because Ilana...FH is the same exact way! Extremely intelligent when it comes to spreadsheets and numbers but can't remember where his wallet, keys, and phone are every single morning!

Our biggest issue was TV since there was only 1 in my 200 sq foot studio when he moved in! We did really well (considering the lack of space) and used the bathroom to make phone calls when the other person was watching TV!
We moved into a much larger 1 bedroom a year ago with a TV in living room and bedroom so we didn't have to fight over watching different show!

FH and I moved in together when we were together 2 1/2 years - so a little over a year ago. The transition was pretty smooth - nothing major really. I love living with him - going to sleep and waking up next to him is the perfect way to start and end the day.

FH kinda lived me with for our whole relationship, outside of the first 4-5 months. He 'officially moved in' last February. The hardest part was finding room for both of our things and deciding what to get rid of. You have to get used to a lack of privacy and be willing to get rid of a favorite keepsake or two... (sigh). It is so worth it though. The best part is not having to go home at the end of the night and being able to fall asleep with him.

We've DEFINITELY gotten into way more fights since we moved in together 14 months ago... We used to fight verryyyy rarely and now we bicker a lot more. We were really excited to live together and the last year has been amazing living together, but I can't lie and say that it hasn't been tough. He's VERY neat and likes things just so, whereas when I come home from a long day at work, I'll kick off my shoes at the door and put my pocketbook on the table and sit on the couch.. and he'll want me to go put my shoes in the closet immediately and I don't want to, I just want to relax. lol. Little things like that. I'm more messy than he is, so it just takes a little more compromising sometimes, and we both need to remember that we are different.

Wow. If you guys survived a 200 sq ft apt together, you're good for life!
