I once had to guard Gavin Rosdale's shower

OK, so Eileen, we, and Ms. Stefani, will be needing very specific details on this one...

In college I was on the programming board. The spring concert my senior year was Bush and Black Eyed Peas (this was before Justin Timberlake anointed them 'cool' and they had their current status). Anyway, it was in our gym, not exactly the place with wonderful dressing rooms, et al. At the end of the night, he needed to take a shower and me and my friend (also on the Board) were cleaning near him. He asked us to stand by the shower/bathroom and make sure that no one came in.

He sings Run Around Sue in the shower

Okay... here goes...

When I was 16 I won a contest on Z100 and got to meet N Sync.

I met LFO at the Smithaven Mall once (yeah, I was a teeny bopper).

OMG Debs - how old are you that you were 16 when NSync was cool????

I was running late to meet my mom for dinner in the theatre district and ran into enimen as he walked out of MTV - i was really sorry and had to go - i think he was surprised i didn't try to get his autograph - i just apologized and ran

i have also ran right into DOn King at the airport

i guess i have a bad habit of not looking where i am going

At the hotel my parents were staying at during the Australian open lots of tennis players were staying there

Venus Williams (i think it was that sister) was there - and she is sitting in the lounge on the botom floor - with guards around her - like i want you to notice me but don't come too close - they had a room upstairs for VIP if she really didn't want to be bothered - oh she had such an ugly outfit on

met a lot more of the players up in the VIP club - saw the bryan brothers- totally hot but hung over after they lost their finals match

That is a very long list indeed. I used to hang out with this girl we would call the mayor because no matter where we went, she new someone. During my party years I think I met and conversed with every hip hop and r&b artist that had an album out. I also met some NBA & NFL players.

Here it goes:

Ike Austin (formerly of Miami Heat)
Eddie Jones (Miami Heat)
Allan Houston (Knicks)
John Starks
Patrick Eweing
Sam Cassell
Anthony Mason
Kerry Kittles
Magic Johnson
Michael Jordan
Stephon Marbury (spilled a drink down my shirt then offered to lick it off. I settled for him just buying me another)

Jay Z
Notorious BIG
P Diddy
Christion
Dame Dash
Faith Evans
Bryce (I forgot his last name)
Kedar Massenberg
Russel Simmons
Talent the Comic
EPMD
Keith Murray
Redman (who has a hand and foot fetish. he followed me around all day and held my hands)
Method Man
Mariah Carey
Wyclef Jean
DMX
Ruff Ryders
Busta Rhymes
Outkast
Erika Badu
Camron
LL Cool J
Dave Chapelle (my all time favorite..he is the funniest person I have ever met. If you've seen his show, he's really like that)
Next (music group..had a dance off with one of the members and have pics of him with my leg somewhere in the vicinity of my ear.)
Fat Joe
Big Pun (R.I.P.)
Miss Jones

I can't think of anymore right now. It was a long time ago.

Re: QOTD - Tell us about your brush with fame?

I have a few 'brushes with greatness':

Met David Cassidy outside the theatre when he was in 'Blood Brothers' on Broadway (really wanted to meet Shaun, sigh).

Stood behind Brooke Shields in Newark Airport (she's VERY tall)

Met a whole bunch of players from the NY Giants (Tiki Barber, ex-Coach Fassel, Michael Strahan, Jason Sehorn, plus a bunch of the older players, including Harry Carson).

Also met Avery Brooks ('Hawk' from Spencer for Hire and 'Capt Sisko' from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine). He came into a restaurant I was working at during college. He was teaching at my college at the time.

Saw Robert Redford from about 20 feet away (he came for a rally at my college).

Met a bunch of the News12 people at a party for a video release (also corresponded via email with Danielle Campbell a few times about the project).

I'm sure there are others, but I can't think of them right now. My MOH meets EVERYBODY. Every time she goes into the city she meets someone famous.

Re: QOTD - Tell us about your brush with fame?

After a Yankee game, we were walking out by the players exit and Derek Jeter came up to me in his street clothes and asked if I was ready to go. (Note: I am a Met Fan and this was before he got famous, so I had no clue who he was) I was like, No, I don't even know you! He then realized that I was NOT his date, she was standing a few feet behind him looking really pissed! We did look alike, but come on! My friends were going nuts and I was not even a little excited. I just thought he was a jerk for not even knowing what his date looked like!

I got to meet Noah Wiley, Anthony Edwards and the cast of ER at a final taping of one their seasons a few years ago. My sister-in-law worked on their lot and snuck us in to watch the closed taping. It was really cool and a secret so it was fun to know the ending. They were really nice when they wrapped for lunch they took pictures with me and my mom. However, Eric LaSale was a jerk and a little pissed when he found out that we were nobody's and concerned we would tell the finale to a magazine or something. It was sooo cool. My SIL rocks.

K....I'm not the coolest, but here are a few exciting moments:

I hugged Meredith from The View. It was great!

I was at a party in which P.Diddy, Pink, and Tommy Lee were there. So fun!

Althought theoretically I kind of work with people most would consider 'famous' I don't. So, my claim to fame is I went to HS with one of the women on All My Children (we were on the dance team together) and one of my sorority sisters was in American Wedding as an extra (seen at the Wedding and Reception).

Oh yeah, and while in France this year, I got a wave from American Cyclist (recently fired for doping ) Tyler Hamilton. I yelled TYLER at the top of my lungs, and since there were only a handful of people in my area (none of whom recognized him), he was definitely waving at ME.

I too, i have WALKED INTO famous people. literally.

The NY Giants have their training camp on SUNY Albany's campus every summer, and because I went there and worked in the dean's office, I had some pull and got VIP status when I drove up there summer of '03. FH (then BF) and I met all the guys. I reallly had to hit the ladies room and ran through TIki Barber to get there. FH & I took a pic w/ Jeremy Shockey and that dirty man had his hand on my @ss for 5 pictures!

Also, I was @ Serendipity in NYC and again, on my way to the bathroom. CHER was on her way out, and OMG, she is TALL!! I went face first into her rock hard fake boobies. That was interesting...

I don't have anything that impressive...

Jerry Seinfeld walked by me in the city a couple of years ago. I'm a big fan, so I had all I could do to stop myself from turning around and following him!

My friends and I were on Total Request Live about 5 years ago. We were 23 at the time and too old to be on a show like that, but it was a lot of fun anyway. I was on TV because I requested a song. Speaking on camera was a lot more nervewracking than I ever thought it would be!

When I was about 14 my friends and I saw Brian Bloom at Commack Multiplex. My friend went up to him and said hi. This was off the charts at the time, but now seems pretty silly!

Hmmmm...I think thats it. SO boring!

OMG I forgot about the best one...FH and I went to TGI Friday's before an Oasis concert a couple of years ago. Liam Gallagher was there having a beer, and FH and I met him and got his autograph.

not really.. i know a bunch of people in bands.. but they're all in bands that no one has really heard of.. although they are big in their genre i guess.

buuttt when i opened this topic i thought you meant times WE were famous.. and it made me remember that i was in a bridal magazine two years ago. i had to dress up in this sequiny thing of my mothers (we had clothespins and scrunchies holding it closed) and then i posed around my parents house because they were advertising weddings at their b&b. oh man, worst experience of my life. and, no, i'm not showing you the pic

Wow, I feel like a loser! I saw Bob Saget in Planet Hollywood (when Full House was on),
I saw Dolly Parton in Tenessee, and in a drunken state asked someone if they were on some soap opera, i forget which. Turned out he was, but obviuosly it wasn't anyone good since I can't remember who it was!

I have never 'met' anyone famous though. I would like to!

About a month ago I saw Billy Joel as he was going into the Greek place in Bayville (where I work), but I was too tongue tied to say anything

But FH has met so many more than me because he works in the news. He's met Brian Williams, Geraldo, John Stamos, Rebecca Romijn, Neil Patrick Harris and there are more but I can't remember.
