**QOTD - Tuesday 7/29**

Where did your parents (or other family members close to you) get married? Are you trying to incorporate anything from their wedding into yours?

My parents got married at the Huntington Town House… which I think is knocked down now.

My mom wanted me to wear her veil but it's been up in our attic for 30 years and it’s completely yellow.

We're getting married in the same church as my parents and brother and SIL. Other than that everything else is unique to FH and I.

My parents were married in the Dominican Republic and my FH's parents in Poland. We are keeping the festivities in NY, but will incorporate some cultural things in the wedding here and there.

My parents got married 30 years ago in the Dominican Republic. It was a small wedding in my grandmothers house. I LOVE to stare at her pics! i think she looked so beautiful! my father was hilarious in a brown suit, a hawaiin shirt (which he still wears TODAY!), and a super thick knotted tie!

i am going to surprise my parents and blow up one of their wedding pics to display.

also, my mom's wedding colors were blue and so will mine!

Even though my parents have large families my parents had a small but elegant wedding of 80 people. My parents said it was the best ever! Everyone danced the entire night & the food was amazing. it was small hall here on the island that is not around anymore. So i want to incorporate the fun but elegant atmosphere! Oh & hopefully we can incorporatethe 39 yrs of marriage my parents have undertheir belt!

My parents got married at Dante Caterers. I am turing my mother wedding gown into a veil. It has some expensive lace detail that I can use for a veil. I really cannot wait to see how my veil will turn out.

my parents got married in st. thomas while they were living there. everything was pretty casual, and i don't think she even has her dress anymore. still figuring out what the 'something old' will be. in a less official way, i was inspired by some of my cousin's ideas--similar (floral) cake topper.

My Sister was married at the North Ritz Club 5 years ago. I booked NRC right on the spot because I knew they are FABULOUS. FH was my date to my Sis's wedding- it was technically our first date. So, we thought it was the perfect place for us! Oh and my oldest Sister got married there in the early 90's but it wasn't the NRC then- it was the Villa Victor before they knocked it down and rebuilt it. So, it's like a family tradition- all the Sisters' got married in the same spot!

Ohhhhhhhh I love this question. My Mommy just got re-married on 11/10/07 at Raphael's Vineyard out East! It was an amazing wedding!! I am incorporating their wedding song 'Rose of my heart'. I am dedicating it to them because they have been so wonderful and are helping us tremendously through all this wedding planning!

My mom and dad got married at the Villa Victor, which is now North Ritz Club. I will not be incorporating anything from their wedding, since they are now divorced.

My mom and step-dad got married at city hall in New Hyde Park. It wasn't your traditional wedding...they had 6 kids running wild throughout the whole thing. Then we went to the Jolly Fisherman afterward for the party. Not gonna do that either.........

My parents got married in Brooklyn at a popular reception hall for their time. Nothing too fancy but very nice. The only thing I'll be incorporating into my wedding is ballroom dance

My parents got married at the Swan Club 30 years ago. They were both from Queens so they said everyone was like 'ooooh your wedding is in the country' LOL

My parents had the smallest, most untradational wedding I think I've EVEr seen! They were married in a fancy restaurant type of place...with only about 45 people!! WOW! Her dress only was up to her knees... and she used the short veil..can't think of that name HA. Soo...i'm not really incorporating anything... I was going to use their church ... but it's all the way in Nassau, and my RH is in Lake Ronkonkoma...so that will be too much of a drive...

My parents got married at the same church I'm getting married at (as did my Aunt/Godmother) - I've made all my sacrements there too!

We are incorporating some Irish traditions into our wedding.

i don't really know too much about their wedding. I know they were married in a church ( which i will not) and they had the reception in nassau somewhere. I completely forget the name. Um i think my mom's bm dress colors were raspberry, or pink or something like that and mine are a dark raspberry...so i guess thats pretty close. Except without those crazy 80's puffy sleeves
