A couple got engaged during your reception? Would you feel as though they are stealing your thunder?

Curious to see what everyone's thoughts are.

This comes from a converstion last night between myself, Tricia & Jeanine.

My FI wanted his friend to propose to his GF at our reception, I was like 'H*ll No'. That's MY DAY and I don't want to share it with NO ONE!!! Sorry call be selfish but that's the way I feel. Needless to say, he proposed to her two weeks ago!!!

After spending a ton of money on my perfect day only to have someone step in and use it for their purpose... hell no. I'd definately be upset.

i have incredibly mixed feelings on this.....first, i think its sweet and different. BUT, if it happened or happens at my wedding, i'd be royally pissed. i don't want people to look back on my wedding and their ONLY memory is of my fbil getting engaged.

yes, I would.
getting engaged during someone else's wedding is totally selfish. The wedding is about the couple getting married, and should stay that way. Its absolutely inappropriate and I would be appalled if someone did this at my wedding or any wedding I went to.
