Re: Queens RH
The only one of those that I really know about is Villa Russo's because I went to a wedding there in '05... I loved it!! Everything was very good!! Good luck deciding on your hall!

Re: Queens RH
i've only been to a wedding at astoria world manor and i thought the food was really good as well as the service. only down side is that they have more than two weddings at once (although i dont think my friend had any problems) and i went to terrace on the park when i was narrowing down RH's and i LOVED the upstairs room. it's amazingly gorgeous. they had like no dates available for 2007 so i wasnt able to book with them.

I've been to Terrace on the Park and it's fabulous! The food is delicious!
I've never been to a wedding at Caffe on the Green but have had dinner there MANY times and the food is to die for and the service is impeccable.
Have you checked out Russo's on the Bay in Howard Beach? They throw a kicka$$ wedding. I've been to several there. Also Roma View in Howard Beach is pretty good too. Their larger room seats a minimum of 150.

Re: Queens RH
I'm a Queens bride on a major budget. I've looked at most of the places that you are talking about. I have to tell you to check out Leonard's of Great Neck. It's beautiful and the prices were very reasonable. It's right on the Queens/Nassau border, very easy for guests from the Bronx which is where most of our guests are from. Good luck with your planning. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Re: Queens RH
I suggest checking out Floral Terrace too!! It's on Jericho Tpke but its not a far drive from queens at all..we got there in about 20 minutes. The place is beautiful!!! My cousin had her wedding there and I honestly can't say enough good things about it,,the food was approved by our HUGE italian family hehe...I went there to look when I started planning and it's still on the top of my list...I can't get it out of my mind.

The BEST one out of this list is Terrace on the Park, the decor is stunning!!!! Have you seen the place, its really beautiful. I have been there for many functions. The food is really good as well.

Re: Queens RH
I was born and raised in Astoria Queens and I can FOR SURE tell you that Riccardos and Astoria World Manor are both a big NO IMO. Although they are affordably priced, the food is NOT good at all and the decor is really dated!!
How big is your wedding? You might want to look at some other places in AStoria that are reasonably priced and MUCH prettier!! The first is Ammos in Astoria and it is a restaurant but it caters private events as well (they will close the place down for you). It is Greek Seafood but the food is really good and they offer other types of food as well. The place is GORGEOUS IMO and it wwill hold anywhere from 100-150 people (but don't quote me on that). Check out their website at: www.ammosnewyork.com
Another really good place is Cavo in AStoria. Same deal with it being a restaurant, but the decor is absolutely breathtaking and they are reasonably priced. Check out their website at: www.cavocafelounge.com
I have heard good things about Caffe on the Green but I heard the room is small so def check it out!
Hope this helps!!!

Re: Queens RH
I live in Astoria, I second the Cavo recommendation. i don't know how much it would cost to rent it out, but it is gorgeous!
On a side note, my grandfather grew up in Astoria and him and my grandma got married at Riccardos...they're going on 57 years married now. But I've never been, so I certainly can't recommend it!

Re: Queens RH
I wouldnt recommend Cavo or Ammos for a reception hall. I would recommend them for an eparty, dinner, hanging out, rehersal dinner, etc etc etc.

Re: Queens RH
I live in Queens and these are the places that i have been to:
Astoria Manor- to be honest with you the food was really bad. Verdi's- I havent been to the one in Queens but i have been to the one in LI the food is pretty good. Terrace on the Park- Really nice but it can be really pricey depending on the time. Russo's- havent been there but i hear nothing but good things but they are extremely pricey (at least to me)
Good luck!

Re: Queens RH
Well I only mentioned it because I'm not sure how big her wedding is. If someone is having a smaller wedding I don't see why it would work?

Re: Queens RH
Okie, I'll tell you what I know, not knowing what kind of wedding you want...Verdi's is nice, food is ok, nothing to write home about, and decor is dated with lots of mirrors...Terrace on the Park..someone I worked with worked there and said they serve Friday's food all weekend long, so if you like that, go for it...the scenery might make up for that...as for Russo's, I did hear terrific, I am going to a wedding in October there, but I did hear costly..I second the option of checking just over the Nassau border, but it is all a matter of your wedding..good luck!!
Edited to say that my neighbors had their wedding at Caffe on the Green and I went to a party there and the room is pretty, especially at night, and the prices were actually reasonable..if you are on a budget, another thing to consider is time of year...an off-prime time of year is going to be less..good luck again! You'll know it when you get in there!

Re: Queens RH
been to Astoria World Manor twice and I have to agree with other people here - it's old and it's like a factory of events (so many events going on at the same time) -- bathrooms are not so clean and overall just not a very impressive place

I see what you are saying if she wanted a restuarant setting, Ammos is perfect and the food is soo yummy. Cavo will prob give her a hard time to close the place just to cater to one party, unless she has it upstairs but its chaos, I wouldnt want other people interupting my wedding reception. I go there to have dinner and people are just all over the place
