question about eparty invites

question about eparty invites

about how long did it take for you to get all your responses? I'm still waiting and i've gotten responses mostly from friends and very little family. it bothers me a bit cause me and my family go to every event there is.. wedding, christening, etc. and we are the only ones without a car.. we take cabs from brooklyn to LI when we have to and we always RSVP on time. I have a few weeks left til my cut off date..but i am paying pp so i really need to know by that date... i just feel like it's really rude. We couldn't invite everyone on our list... our guest list is about 176 and we invited 90 ppl to our eparty.. but most of the people we couldnt invite aren't really close family members or children of great aunts that i never met, etc. But i did have to cut people off the list that i would have much rather had there just to invite family i HAD to so to speak, and it kind of ticks me off that they arent responding. So now i have to miss out on people i want being there, and others have called my grandmother to ask if so and so is invited because they didnt get an invite and i'm like hello i have to accommodate my family, frends and FH's family.. i have never been invited to anything these people have had and now they want an invite...are u kidding me!
sorry.. this is more a vent than a question really i guess..lol. Just getting a little annoyed today! thnx for listening!

Call them. If you're doing this for your e-party, plan on it for your wedding.

I have the same problem! I think what really screwed it up for me is I didn’t put down a RSVP by date…I just asked them to RSVP. It seems like no one’s motivated enough to call without a deadline—gah!

Is yours at a place? If so, start calling at least a week before you have to give your final headcount.

No, thankfully, it’s just something in our backyard. We are paying pp for the catering, and there are various minimums for different menus, so I’m just assuming at least 80% are coming.

yea.. it's at a small hall..which is why some people did get left off the invite list....and even though i know the owner..we are still paying .. so if i don't hear from everyone soon i'm gonna start calling. I even made it easy.. i put our wedding website on there and there is a place to R.S.V.P there..lol. So most people have access to the net and if they don't want to call then they can go online..and if they have trouble with the RSVP form there is my email, fh's email, my mom's, MOH and BM! so ...lol..there should be no issue there! i just get annoyed sometimes..but honestly my friends are all responding which is exactly what i expected!!

ETA: DUH i already said mine was at a place..you weren't asking me! HELLO! lol.. sorry my brain is all cloudy today!!

We had to call a few people who didn't respond on time for our e-party either. Always give an ealier RSVP date and give people a few extra days after that date, and then start calling - make sure you don't give an RSVP date a day before you have to let the hall know a count.

I agree, I would say wait a couple of days until after rsvp date (if you have that time to spare) and then make those calls...how annoying...I find people always amaze me with ow inconsiderate they can be...

I had a deadline and people still didnt respond.

I said ' screw it' and didnt call them. Most of those people will not be invited to the wedding. It really pissed me off because there were others that I wanted to invite but didnt because of space concerns.

For the wedding, I am embellishing the RSVP date quite a bit.

Yeah- we had this too for the e-party. We had an rsvp of 2 weeks prior. FMIL called people about a week ad a half before to see if they were coing- people are just rude. Some people 'claimed' that they e-mailed- but I KNOW they didn't. People s*ck!
