question about unity candles, toasting flutes, and cake serving set
Okay, am I a party-pooper?I don't want toasting flutes- I just want to use the same glasses that the hall gives to everyone else. I think it would look nice in the photos.
I don't want a cake serving set because I don't think it would show up in photos.
And, I'm not gettting a unity candle set because my officiant is going to give me one of the ones that the church gives to him.
Any thoughts?

Those are all things you have to decide for yourself. Nobody should/can tell you that you HAVE to do it. They are all trivial and you will have a wonderful day with/without them.

Nah, you're not a party pooper! They don't mean anything to anyone except you, and if you don't want them, you don't have to have them.
I'm not doing any of those things either.

Re: question about unity candles, toasting flutes, and cake serving set
I agree with the toasting flutes. I did not go out and but them either. It is just one more thing to worry about and no one notices anyway.Unity Candle, we are buying because the claddah has a significant meaning to us so we are getting one with the claddah.
Cake serving set someone gave us a Lenox one otherwise I wouldn't have purchased one.
The book everone signs IMO just something else to store away. We have video now, I don't think you need it.

we had all that stuff and now as i look back on it it was nice and the pics they did all come out but not needed! we got them all as gifts and we only used the flutes at the toast. the rest of the night was the halls glasses! it is what you want! just remember that!

Re: question about unity candles, toasting flutes, and cake serving set
if you dont need it- dont get it-i got my untiy candle as a gift
i registered for my cake cutter and got
and my toasting flutes were given to us as an engagement gift along with a bottle of champagne... if i had to spend the $$ i wouldnt.
Being newly married, if I had to do it again (the old cliche) I would have cut out alot of things i got)

Re: question about unity candles, toasting flutes, and cake serving set
I don't think you are a party pooper. I am not doing the cake cutting set or the unity candle. At first I wanted it, but I didn't really see the point. I do kind of want the toasting set, but I don't think I would buy it myself. If someone buys it, that's different. But it might be nice to have, so you can toast each other on your anniversary with the same glasses you used at your wedding to toast. Call me a sap I guess.Welcome New Vendors
