Question about wedding invites
hey everyone ... I have a question hope you can answer. I'm going to be having between 55 - 65 people at my wedding . Now the question is should I make my own invitations or order them. Would I save money by doin them myself ? I don't mind making them I know it will take alot of time ... I just don't wanna do all that work and find out that ordering them would be close to the same price.

Best bet, go get pricing for having them done by someone else. I was going to make my own invites, but it ended up being just a little more money to have a professional do the invites I wanted, with NO agrivation on my end. If you know what you want, get prices for ordering them. What I did when I was going to make them, I bought supplies to make one, did a trial run (to get an idea on the actual 'trouble' of making one') then figure the cost of how many you'll need and take into consideration the time and effort to make all of them. Good Luck

Re: Question about wedding invites
Thanks MskittyI spoke with my FH about it and he asked me if I was sure because he doesn't want me to turn into a creature of the night trying to get them done

Re: Question about wedding invites
Also keep in mind that despite how many people you plan on having, you will either need to make or order more than you intend to invite in case of error.

Re: Question about wedding invites
It really depends on what kind of invite you like. Pocketfolds are $$$$ to purchase, and from reading about costs from the DIY mavens, can be done for a fraction of the cost. However, a simple elegant invite might not be worth the trouble to do yourself.I would shop around for invites before making that decision.

Re: Question about wedding invites
definitely look into both to find out....and think long and hard about your patience level as well. I made CDs and I was ready to toss those things out the window and go buy bubbles one day while working on them!!we used a lady in syosset, she was very helpful. we needed far more invites than you will...but do remember that you will likely need a good 20-25 more invites than you think 'just in case' for mistakes, last minutes invitees, envelope do-overs...HTH
