MY CLOSET! Everything has a place. It is color coordinated, shirts with shirt, pants with pants, you name it. Shoes are kept in boxes in a certain order. FI thinks I am nuts. Thank god we have 2 closets in our bedroom, if I had to mix my stuff with his it would be a nightmare! He would ruin my system!!!

Re: Question: Are you obsessive/compulsive about something?
DH is sooooo obsessive about the bank accounts. He calls and checks constantly.
I don't know if this is OCD related but I count things - steps, light posts, those buttons on the highway, etc. It's not even for the sake of knowing there are 15 steps up to my apartment because I never remember and will count the next time I walk up the stairs. (I just put 15, I don't know how many there are).
I do the paper towel/toilet paper thing. It has to be even.
And I have a weird thing with paper clips - they have to be seperatated by size. Only smooth silver clips, no ridges or coatings, which cannot be out of shape are acceptable. I prefer the smaller ones but can't use them too often because they don't hold too many pages without getting stretched out. Stretched out, ridged and coated clips go right in the trash.

This is funny! Lisa Rose- there are more of us!! I'm totally obsessed w/ the checkbook. I have the bank on speed-dial!!! I just gont on-line banking as well. FH thinks I'm a total wack job!
I don't obsess about much more.. but a big 'pet peeve' of mine is- when I get out of the shower or, have bare feet- I can not STAND to step in something wet. I dry off in the shower and then get out and wipe my feet before they touch anything. FH gets out and there's water everywhere- it drives me totally nuts! He's learning though

Ok, Christine? yeah, that is obsessive compulsive..lol. No harm though, we are all guilty about something.
FH is OCD with the alarm clock. He checks to make sure it is set about 1000 times before he believes it will go off at the correct time. I am talking on, off, on, off, for a good 5 minutes. snooze, play, set, am, pm, am, pm. It drives me up the wall!!!!
Edited to tell you girls that he gets up at the same time everyday yet still goes through the process every night.

The sponge thing is big for me too. I don't want the same sponge used to clean the dishes as wipe the counters.
The sink has to be sprayed with antibacterial spray anytime any meat was even cooked in the kitchen.
Clothes can not stay in the washer or dryer after they are done, they need to be removed right away, folded and put away.
Sock and underware draws always have to be neatly arranged, if messed I will dump whole thing out and re-do it.
The shower curtain has to be pulled all the way over. If it is pushed to one side, and any of tub/shower can be seen, I freak.
My god, I have a lot of them

Another OC is this site. I need to check it at least 10 times an hour! It's the first thing I do when I turn on the computer

I do that too, I check to make sure I have it set for AM just because I have made that mistake on many occassions. The best part is he must have an internal alarm clock because his eyes are open even before it goes off. I should video tape him and sent it to the looney farm, they would sign him up in a heart beat. lol, thank god it's Friday and I don't have to deal with it tonight!

Re: Question: Are you obsessive/compulsive about something?
I am definitely obsessive/compulsive about a lot of things. I believe like Kim said above - Everything has it's place. I guess I just like order. Doesn't have to be super neat or super clean just orderly and in place.
Also, I have been know to not be able to fall asleep if I see a bit of a sock sticking out of a drawer - must get up and fix it. Or a crocked mirror or painting - can't concetrate until it is fixed.
I am obsessive about making sure the stove is off or the toaster oven or anything that may cause fires. I am obsessive about making sure the door is locked.
I also go in phases with my compulsions.

lmao, Rachel I am cracking up! I am so glad you share my pain. He gets up to music, not the buzzing sound, so it's like this....'music, set, music, set, music, set, music, set, music, set, music, set, music, set literally for a good 2 minutes. He says it outload too, '11:30pm, 5:45am, 11:30pm, 5:30am.' this goes on until he gets too '11:32pm, 5:45am.'
I kid you not! Aww, now I feel bad for telling his secrets..lol

I am also a freak about my closet. All of my shoes are in their original boxes and my shirts are in color and style order. I have special hangers for certain clothes and they all have to go the same way.
I also have a small accordion envelope that has all of my receipts in it. I have been known to take a two year old sweater back to a store and return it with the original receipt because I got a hole in it

Re: Question: Are you obsessive/compulsive about something?
I am O/C about locking doors. Recently I left my job and took a cab home to make sure my door was locked b/c I coulnt focus on my work. Of course, it was locked. Sometimes I do things and then I cant remember if I did them or not. Oh, and I absolutely, must my cats before I leave home for the day, b/c it freaks me out to think that I accidentaly locked one of them in the closet or the bathroom when I leave.

Re: Question: Are you obsessive/compulsive about something?
Kim - that is so funny (to read, I know it must make you crazy).
I have seperate sponges for the couters & the dishes but I lump that with cleanliness not OCD - why would I wipe gunk of the counters and then clean my glass with it? I finally trained DH that the green sponge is not for dishes (green = ground) Maybe that part is obsessive but its easier for him to remember that:)

FH is a pig at home, but at the gym he always feels the need to rearrange the plate weights and dumbbells so that they're in the right order!
Another one of mine is that the bills in my wallet have to be in monetary order and facing the same way with no dog-ears in the corners!
