I haven't sent out my invites but I can already tell you I am definitely getting a LOT of no's... There are probably about 10-15 people who are not coming specifically because of economy related issues (ie: lost job, too costly, etc..).. I am already anticipating about 70 no's because we have a lot of relatives that live in different countries but in my case it actually works out because we have waaaaay more people on our guest list than we budgeted for!

I'm expecting most, if not all, of our OOT guests not to come. A lot of them are elderly, but a lot are whole family units too, so will be really tough for 5 people to come up. I would say of our 167 currently on the guest list, a good 1/3 are OOT/elderly and will say no.

So far we got about 10% that are NOs from the RSVPs that we actually got back. Out of the 220 something we intived, I'm hoping to have at least 175, but I think I'm shooting high for that... We shall see.

Pretty much because it was December...originally they told me for a Sat they wouldn't go below 140-150, even in December, and they must have felt the pressure with FH being away in Greece for 2 weeks and us not booking that they came back and said that they would do it for us final answer. Had they not, I probably wuold have been a Larkfield bride, and they knew that.

Re: Question from a 10'er

I haven't sent my invites out yet, but pretty much everyone we are inviting knows about it and has verbally told us they'll be there. I hope they stick to that! FH and I are luckily in fields where there aren't many layoffs and most (if not all) of our invitees are currently employed and with well paying jobs.

I havent sent mine out yet but I am not thinking I will get many No's. My entire side of the family is OOT but our wedding is really only family and some close friends so I think cause it smaller I wont see many No's. Family has already called my parents saying the wouldnt miss it for the world

Haven't sent mine out yet.. but I guess it depends on who you plan to invite.. OOT guests are gonna be less likely to attend as well as not-too-close friends who are having a rough time but close friends and family I would assume are not going to be a problem.. So i gues it depends what your guest list mainly consists of
