I do want to say this though...as someone who did invite some LIW brides after my initial invites went out (and I am so happy you are coming girls! ) I feel badly for whoever extended the invite to you, if only because there are probably a few brides out there wondering who YOU are, and if they are the bride you may or may not be offended by.
maybe this would have been better as an fm, so a few brides you are comfortable with asking. JMHO.
Maybe she is planning on doing this herself?
I was thinking the same thing.....
Personally I'd be honored and flattered.
that's a good point girls, and one I obviously didn't think of...
I just wish the poster would clarify. thanks!
I am considering doing this. I wanted to see how people felt about it before asking anyone. Sorry for the confusion

I would go. And have gone. It was in October of 2004, for Amy (oakslady). She was getting amrried at Miller Place Inn, and was WAY below her minimum. She posted on her about needing to meet the minimum and it ended up being FH and I and two other LIW couples that attended.
If someone needs help, who better to help than friends! That's what I say! Plua, I hope if I were in the same prediciment (who knows, I may be with a minimum of 175 ) no one would be offended to be a 'fill in'

I don't mean to stir trouble, but why would you disguise yourself if you were intending to invite people in this manner. It's an honor no matter what.
Unless, you are one that is invited and are insulted by the manner in which you were invited..

Sounds like she wanted to see how people felt. No harm done.

I apologize too.
honestly, all of the girls on here that I asked were awesome....a colleague of mine from work (she has since been demoted to colleague from work friend LOL) got 'offended' I was like OH WELL!
do it. I think you can already tell who will be and won't be open to it, and if they do get offended, that is THEIR stick up their butt, not yours.

I would be happy this person felt that she could count on me to help reach her minimum and thinking I wouldn't be insulted about it. I would feel obligated to give a gift though.

Re: question, please respond
my original list was too big because my fmil invited 30 people more than we told her to
so that caused alot of stress on my family...so we had to keep our list to a minimum...
since it was a touchy subject, most non LIW people dont understand how close we all are..and i was afraid they would say 'who? someone you met on the internet? over your cousin marcia??'
soon my family realized we got alot of no's...and my mom asked me to please invite any one else that i wanted to be there...and she was so happy that i was going to invite my LIW friends..so i sent them their inivtations late..
unfortunately they are not able to make my wedding...but i am pretty sure its because of a timing/planning things..not because they are insulted.
as a bride yourself, you must understand how these things work and just be happy that you were invited...if you do not want to go, then dont. but if this girl extended you an invitation, its obvious you are important to her. you, of all people, as a bride, should empathize with her situation.

honestly, it depends on how close you are to this person. If it's just through the internet and not like you hang out, I would not go. Only because I would feel obligated to give a gift and if this person was not close to me, I would not want to spend what little money I have on a gift for them. JMO

wow. I guess it's a personal thing. I would not be insulted one bit, b/c I went through the whole thing with room constraints, having to invite people you may not have wanted to, instead of those you really liked...
also, I am sure the girls would agree, when I first signed on to this site, I never expected to really like so many people, let alone think I would be one day wishing they could come to my wedding.
most of us booked our halls/room before that happened.
and I would actually be HONORED and HAPPY to help bail someone out of a jam.
If you feel like you may be insulted, maybe you should just decline.
Totally agree on all points!

I would NOT feel insulted. Soemtimes we cannot include everyone we know and love to due costs and if a freind of mine told me she wanted me there, I would support her, even if I know she could not invite me in the begining

Re: question, please respond
I love weddings, so I would go if I didn't already have plans.
If for some reason, I don't make my minimum, I will invite a couple of my little sister's friends to come to my wedding.
