Questions about St. Brigid's Church in Westbury....
Hi girls! I'm new to LI Weddings.com and was wondering if you could help me out.....I'm thinking of getting married at St. Brigid's Church in Westbury........can anyone tell me what their process is? My fiancee is divorced.....he got married at city hall but never through the Catholic church. Will this be a problem? Will I need a dispensation or will they just need to see proof of his divorce?
Any one else getting married at St. Brigid's? We're planning to get married in November '07. If anyone has pictures of St. Brigid's, please share!
Thanks girls!

Re: Questions about St. Brigid's Church in Westbury....
Welcome to LIW!I just got married at St. Brigid's and they did a great job with everything so I highly recommend them! I found them to be lenient compared to other Catholic churches as I'm not Catholic and DH and I are not parishioners of the church. They had no issues with us getting married there - didn't ask for me to convert or for us to join their parish, etc.
I'm not really familiar with how things work when one of the parties is divorced but I'm sure if you call and ask they'll be glad to explain things to you.

Re: Questions about St. Brigid's Church in Westbury....
thats really weird krispy because when i called them, they made sure i had my confirmation and all of that. i currently live in FL so i had to mail them an application to get married there. i called them a few days later and they said 'a priest will call you in 7-10 days to let you know' to me thats kinda ridiculous. why does it take so long?? FH's brother got married there 2 years ago. its a beautiful church! i love it. and our neice just got christianed there. sorry this doesnt really help you out but you do have to go there and meet with someone and discuss when the wedding would be and stuff.Welcome New Vendors
