Quick friends

Quick friends

Have you ever felt like you bonded with some people too soon, too fast and felt that they were great friends from the beginning only to find out that you are not that special to them? That they do that with a lot of people.

Yeah, unfortunately I know people like this. It is too bad because you can feel hurt. But in the end I just say screw em. I have friends who really care about me

Re: Quick friends

I tend to pour everything into friendships from the start, it's just the way I am. I figure if it takes, great. If not, then at least I know I gave it a good try.

I don't see the point of being false, honestly. What's the point? To collect 'friends' that you keep at arm's length? That's just silly.

I know... I do that too but don't you get disappointed when people do that to you? That they switch 'best buddy' very quickly.

Of course, I am all or nothing myself.

I don't think I ever had that with anyone. When I have friends, they usually are there forever (**warning to Sophie** ) BUT what I have with ALL my friends is that we get crazy busy at points and totally don't talk for weeks and then when we talk it's like we never stopped talking.

Oh Kara... You and I are FOREVER...

I was really talking about people who act like best buddies and then gone... they switch to another best buddy. Meanwhile, you don't know what you did wrong.

Re: Quick friends

I do get dissapointed. DH and I joke about it, that we scare everyone away.

I used to try to make sense of it, try to figure out if I did something wrong, and make all kinds of excuses for people. But what's the point? I just chalk it up to - everyone's different.

I think the older people get and the more their life changes, the harder it is to maintain a friendship. Once my friends started buying homes and having children, I didn't see them as much. I can totally understand that, your priority is your family, and it doesn't allow for a lot of friend time.

DH and I are at a disadvantage - we're not going to have children. So unless we make friends with other couples that feel the same, we're resigned to not having a close friendship with anyone.

Does that mean if you don't want kids that you don't want to hang out with people with kids? Or do you mean people with kids won't hang out with you since you don't want any?

Just curious!

Neither. It means once they have kids, they don't have time for us anymore.

WOW... I still plan on seeing my friends when I have the baby. So does DH! We may have to adapt a bit but so did we when we got our puppies. My life is not over when I have this baby. Neither was it when I got married.

Friends are important.

Re: Quick friends

No.
I am that friend. I don't put too much energy into new friendships- I am very lazy about them. I only keep friendships which don't require too much effort to maintain. I get so annoyed by people who read into every little action, like I am their boyfriend. If we're friends, that's it. We don't need to be joined at the hip, and I can have other friends whom I bond with just as much, at various times and moods. I don't need a boosom buddy.

My post is being turned into a body part thread...

NO... what I meant was not about high maintenance friendship. I was talking about people who became your friend very quickly then disappear from the planet because they really were never your friend. They switch to a new friend all the time. They will never hear back from them EVER. You will only find out later... or will just will never hear back from them leaving you wondering what you did wrong. They just stop talking to you.

Yeah- I know what you mean, I'm still that friend.
It's not like I ignore peopple's ophone calls and blow them off, but I will be super friendly, and quickly drift away. I am a friend whore. But it's not ever that anyone did wrong. Maybe it's more like I'm afraid of friendship commitment?
Hmmm.

First i talk about how i dresses this
In diamond necklasses - stretch lexuses
The sex is just immaculate from the back i get
Deeper and deeper, help ya reach the
Climax that your man can't make
Call him, tell him you'll be home real late
And sing the break
