Okay, this is going to possibly sound weird - but I'm trying to avoid doing some work stuff, so I figured I'd ask! I've never tweezed, plucked, waxed, threaded my eyebrows. They're still the ones that I was born with lol. I'm possibly thinking of fixing them up for the wedding but am scared that once I start, I have to do it constantly, or that they'll get messed up! They're not necessarily bushy but they don't have a shape/shape and I almost feel like my makeup will look much better with them shaped up!
Ah- I wax my eyebrows every 2 weeks. That seems to do the trick?
My mom's nail lady is awesome, and I always see her when I am home. Then when I go in DC, I ask them to follow that shape.

Re: Random Eyebrow Question
you have pretty nice eyebrows! the ones i was born with are bushy and um i only had ONE eyebrow lol one big eyebrow lol
once you start you will have to keep it up though...I highly rec threading it gives you a nice clean look and natural shape
there is a place in huntington...or my lady from the salon there now works at booth in south shore mall, her name is Asiyah she's amazing! don't go to just anyone!

Re: Random Eyebrow Question
Let me start off by saying I hate you that you've never done anything to your eyebrows....LOL
I on the other hand was born with my grandfathers 'groucho marx' eyebrows, and have been plucking/waxing/threading since I realized you're supposed to have 2 eyebrows.
I actually find that threading hurts more than waxing. Well...I wouldn't say 'hurt' its just more annoying. Waxing is like 2 seconds of pain, but totally worth it. Do you have sensitive skin?

Re: Random Eyebrow Question
they look pretty defined. But in case u still wanna do it, I highly recommend threading, it last at least 3 weeks

Re: Random Eyebrow Question
Thanks ladies - for some reason, this is the scariest part of the whole planning process - deciding if I want to do my eyebrows or not. I remember long before I was engaged telling myself 'The day I get married, I'm going to fix these puppies' (SAD I know ) and now that day is here and I'm terrified I'm going to end up with non-existent eyebrows.
I have pretty sensitive skin. I've tried waxing my lower leg once and it felt like what i could imagine the pain of giving birth. Is threading any better? lol What's more fool proof?

If you think thats bad, you've obviously never had a brazillian
I'd suggest getting your eyebrows waxed, the sooner the better. Just so you can see if you like it, and if you can bare it. It's really not that bad, but that could be because I've been getting them done every 2 weeks or so for just about 15 years.

Threading is not pain-free but it's not that bad either, just think about it this way...beauty is painful lololol maybe I'm exaggerating with this quote!

15 years?? Oh my goodness - how can you stand the pain for that long?!?!
And nope, no Brazilian for me - I don't even want to imagine what kind of pain that is!!!

Re: Random Eyebrow Question
Do you guys take some kind of pills (Advil) or do something else to handle the pain???
God help me when I have to give birth - that's all I'm going to say. I'm such a baby - if I get a little papercut I act as if someone cut my finger off lol

Re: Random Eyebrow Question
i would def recommend getting them waxed or threaded. I feel like my face looks cleaner and make up shows up better. threading hurts more and takes longer but lasts longer too

Re: Random Eyebrow Question
It seriously hurts for like 2 seconds and then its over. Go somewhere to have it done though, I always do better when I'm not the one ripping it off my face.
Maybe a glass of wine (or 2) to relax you before!? I've found that when I tense up my face it hurts more than when it's relaxed.

Re: Random Eyebrow Question
Okay so I'm kind of getting convinced, but what happens if I do it and I hate it??? How long does it take to grow my eyebrows to their natural self - or does that never happen :(
I feel like I finally have to fully grow up and I'm not happy!
