Am I the only one thinking of doing this? Is it horribly tacky to not have the RD in a restaurant?
We are out of $ and I just can't justify spending $2000+ to have it at a restaurant.

My friend did that, there is nothing wrong with it at all.
We had a good time, it was relaxed, and we weren't in a rush to leave.
If I was getting married in the summer / early fall, I would do it!

Im having it at my mother in laws house..originally we were going to have it in our backyard because no one volunteered to have it for us so we couldnt afford to do a restaraunt but finally FMIL said shed have it i dont think its tacky at all

ours was at BIL's house, and it was great! a lot more intimate than having it at a restaurant.

Neither do we! LOL! I guess we need to figure that out! I think one of our friends may volunteer to let us have it at their house----hopefully!

sometimes I feel pressured to keep up with what everyone else is doing too... I think an RD in a backyard is perfectly fine. I might do it myself.

I would have done that. I think it's more fun that way. This way your not rushed and people are more relaxed.

Not tacky at all!!
We decided to have the RD at FH's house since it's just too much $$ on top of everything else...We rather just have it at FH's and putt all our $$ into the weding.

I'm having mine at my parent's house... I like the idea of an intimate, quiet dinner. I wasn't a big fan of having it at a restaurant, esp after seeing the price for a decent place.

I would have done mine in my backyard if I had a yard and if it had been a warmer time of year. I think its a great idea, and itll be laid back and more relaxing!! I think people will love it!

there's absolutely nothing wrong w/ a RD in the backyard. We would have done it but we don't have a backyard so it didn't work out.

def NOT tacky, i wanted to do something like that at my house but we got married in march and it wasnt warm enough to do it outside

We're planning on doing that! Its so expensive to have it at a a restaurant and besides it will be more intimate & more fun!

i see absolutely nothing wrong with that...that is where i had wanted mine until FIL offered to throw it for us and wanted ti at a restaurant...i think youll have so much fun there and it is def not tacky
