the more i think about it, the more i agree with you girls. i guess all i want to say is, if it's NWR, try not to make it too controversial. JMO.

Eh, I think a lot of seemingly NWR stuff actually is somewhat WR.

I posted about my dad's upcoming open heart surgery. It's taking place less than 4 weeks from my wedding at a time where I'm already under all this wedding stress -- which now seems silly b/c of the real life stress.

I figure people here know what I'm going through in terms of wedding stress and might be able to relate. I don't see anything wrong with those kinds of posts.

And for the most part, the other NWR stuff stays friendly. You don't have to post if you don't want to post on those threads, but I don't think they need to be banned. It's not as if they're OOC.

I have to disagree with this...
I understand this is a wedding board, but many many many of us have become friends with other brides on here -- friendships that only STARTED by talking about WR issues, but blossomed from openning up about our lives in general. We come here to share the ups and downs of our lives and get and give advice. This website just wouldnt be the same if we ONLY talked about WR stuff....and many of us wouldnt bother to come on that much. Unless the board is completely over-run with NWR topics, I dont think its really a big deal.

PS- I get where your coming from...but not all NWR stuff should be off limits- just those that may upset other people

I don't know, I don't mind the off-topic stuff too much. Sometimes it's good to remember that there are other things going on in the world, not just my wedding

Some people have real problems that aren't wedding related. They also may not have anyone else to turn to, and some have actually made friends here. I don't see anything wrong with it.

Sorry to hear about your dad! I know what your going through, my dad has to have a carotid endarotomy (the artery in his neck is 95% blocked so he is not getting enough blood to his brain, and he is on the verge of a stroke) this month, and even though it is 3 months before my wedding, it totally puts things in perspective...what's really important... It is great that we have each other to share our experience with (with in reason)

i actually agree with you ladies for the most part... but the post i am referring to is just so controversial and i guess only SWR that i was shocked to see it... guess that's why we have ron and liz and kim to regulate us all

I'm with the other ladies! I don't think the 07 board has had many controversial issues. Everyone should just respect other people's opinions and I enjoy the NWR stuff. It's good to have people be there for you or do the same for them. And sometimes it is fun tuff which is great!

I agree with everyone ~ I understand that you would rather see posts on wedding related topics but I think everyone has developed alot of friendships ~ I know even if i have not met most of you ~ there are a bunch of ladies that FM back and forth with me etc... sometimes when someone is sad or is going through some tough times they need somewhere to turn! and even if it is a LIW huggy or prayer it helps...

(I try not to post too much personal NWR stuff but sometimes it just comes up...but last year my grandmother passed away and my LIW girlies help me through it)

that is why NWR topics should have that in the subject line so if you are not really into reading and posting to those topics you have a choice ~ you don't have...

I am not on the other boards so I am not sure what is going on but i think for the most part the 07 bunch has not had that much drama I think we have been pretty much fun and respectful at the same time!
