I got a manicure today and wondered if I should make a 3rd attempt at uv gel nail tips, even though EVERY TIME I do it, I hate it and have them taken off after a month..
So I'm a real nail gal although I love how tips look (when they're clean and natural)

Re: Real Nails or Fake?
Such a good question. I liek the look of natural nails but so afraid they will chip for the wedding. I am debating putting short permanent french tips for the wedding/honeymoon. I am going to see, still not sure bc I get married Friday and don't leave for the honeymoon until Monday I could go get a fresh manicure.

Re: Real Nails or Fake?
well, i had acryllic nail in HS, and i sorta hate them now. i don't like when they look really thick (and fake). i had silk done once to repair a nail and i liked that even less, so i never went for a full set. i've never even heard of the gel thing. what is that?
my plan was to go regular french manicure (natural), but lately i've been tossing around the possibility of tips

Honestly, I feel the same way you do. I've had fake nails a few times and they annoy the heII out of me. I end up taking them off after 2 months. I think regular manicures on your real nails are just as nice. Just take care of your nails and file them so they keep their shape.

Re: Real Nails or Fake?
I had silk wraps for YEARS and they were great. But it was a pain going to the salon every two weeks. And now that I've moved and I'm no longer close to the person I was going to for NINE years, I am currently sporting natural nails. But I think if I had the time and the money, I'd go back to having the silk wraps. If they are done properly, when you soak them off, your nails are not weak and brittle.

Re: Real Nails or Fake?
I will be doing my usual, uv gel nails. I love the look of a fresh manicure but they don't last long enough, I don't have the time of the patience to go for a manicure every 4-5 days and I can't stand when my nails are not polished so even though I would rather have natural nails I do the permanent french uv gel nails so that they always look nice and I only have to go once every 2 weeks.

What's the difference between UV gel tips and acryllic tips?

Re: Real Nails or Fake?
My natural nails get really long, really fast, so luckily I don't have to do anything. But I bite out of nervousness, so they're always different lengths and very rarely polished.
I put glue ons myself for my prom and my real nails were almost as long underneath, so it was just a waste. And I refuse to go to a nail salon ever, it skeeves me out and it can be so unsanitary. So I'll just do my own nails for the wedding...if they're chipped, oh well. Hopefully my photog doesn't do any detail shots on my nails!

Re: Real Nails or Fake?
You have to buy Sally Hanson Hard as Nails Polish. It like if you are putting a wrap without all the gels. I have seen a vast improvement in my horrible nails since using basically any sally hansen nail growth products!!!

I love the natural look, with a pretty neutral polished manicure.

Re: Real Nails or Fake?
I have natural nails now, but I definitely am going to get short, permanent french tips for the wedding and honeymoon because my nail polish ALWAYS chips and I don't want to look like trailer trash at my wedding.

Re: Real Nails or Fake?
I had the permanent french on for a while and just recently took them off in November. I have been getting manicures and they look really nice but I will be putting the permanent french nails back on for my wedding and honeymoon since we have a flight at 830 am the day after my wedding to Cancun!
